Limited Run Luke ROTJ Hero Lightsaber Kit.( Run closed )

Mine arrived yesterday. It's awesome! Wow the red and green triangles are small. Getting them on right will drive my OCD crazy. Copper tape is getting delivered Monday. I'm off to lowes to get more sandpaper and some paint. This is going to be a fun weekend. Pics will be forthcoming. Good luck everyone!

Lay out the triangles on a piece of cardboard (like the back of a notebook).
Cut them out
Put template on side of control box.
Put something on each side of the template to elevate it off the clamp
Align and tape or clamp down so it won't move on you
(conversely you can trace it with a pencil onto the clamp)
Put a dot of glue on the triangle
place it using the template.
Place second triangle.

Once it's dry take off template and voila. If you traced it. The lines should be covered by the piece and you're done.

I like how you think! I was going to template it with painters take and dab the glue and voila! I'm constantly going back and forth on pictures of the alignment on the real prop. Some of the pics have the colors reversed. I hope I'm not staring at two different props. Sanding is done. Most of the mill marks are done. The copper neck was anchored hard onto the top of the grenade. Even though I was being careful, the channel locks went through the padding I used. Thank god copper and aluminum sand out nicely. If anyone else has them anchored on tight, be very careful. Sand! Sand! Sand! I'm covered in copper and aluminum dust lol.

I hope it´s metric, but i assume chances are not good.

Then i would need to rework that.

Agreed. I just happened to have a standard one for some random reason. If we don't hear anything by Monday I'll take a part to Home Depot to see what fits. The ones it came with definitely don't look custom machined to they should be easy to find.

Rust-Oleum Flat Black paint, a sanding block to remove the paint on the grenade rings, some Flitz on a towel and a little elbow grease. The flitz gives it a beautiful chrome look (which I tried to capture in these pics). I have some Micro-Mesh sanding pads coming on Monday. I want to use them to smooth the control box before I apply the copper tape and then apply the buttons and arrows to finish it off (for now)...

It's getting there. It was a fun day putting this together. I'm just waiting on the copper tape. I'm debating on what I want to do with the tri-ring. I like that idea of using gun blue. I might just bury it in the yard for a month to weather it.

Looks great! Could you please show a pic of that Flitz bottle?
Thanks.

Hey Kevin,

Looks great. What size does the board need to be as i can prepare mine ready for when the saber arrives :)

Thanks
Lee

P.S who is going to do a green crystal run for the emitter :)

I just bought a blank board and cut it to fit. Also needed to paint it green because the board was tan. The blank board was 3.00 dollars at radio shack. They didn't have anything smaller.

I just added some more greeblies to the board to make it look fuller.

Thanks Kevin. Can you let me know how big the board is to allow it to fit?
