Luke Bespin Boots - any info on these?

I'm gathering as much info as possible for a new Luke Dagobah/Bespin costume, which I want to get together well before celebration Europe.

Does anyone have any leads on the boots? What were the orignals made from?

Screencaps and info would be most welcome.

Thanks,

Al

sorry, forgot to mention the fringe. these boots have been around since the 70's. Once you cut off the fringe, take out the laces and tape up the edge where the lace eyelets are (plus add the velcro straps) you basically have yourself a near exact pair of luke bespin boots. Until last october they were producing these boots in almost the exact same tan/grey color as the luke boots (check the website, they still have photos). They only offer them in black and a caramel brown color now. IF there were enough interest they may offer these in the correct color again.

I've told you before Chris, the best way forward is NO SLEEP. ;)

That's great info - but a major BUMMER that hey don't offer the correct color any more.

Ah, isn't that always the way...the road to screen accuracy is always a hard road.... :lol

I forgot to mention that I have a pair of those moccasin boots in black and they're fantastically comfortable. Might need a padded insole for long days on hard surfaces though - the soles are very thin.

I'm going 'round in circles in my search for reference pics (even screen grabs I take show nothing new really) and a source for these boots. The moccasin boots look pretty good, but in some shots the boots themselves seem to be tan leather with a suede wrap-around.

Hard to know which way to jump on this one, unless some definitive evidence comes forward.

I'm now considering just buying a pair of suede sand boots, weathering them and adding suede tops and ties.

Unless anyone has a better suggestion?
