Hi there,
There was a time many of us knew when the easiest way to get a Luke ANH/ESB lightsaber was to build it out of available materials.
I did back in the late 90s out of a 40mm diameter steel tube. Unfortunately, I gave it to a friend in the early 2000 when I learned about the Graflex flash tube.
That awesome thread made me wanna try to build a scratch made Luke lightsaber again :

mine is still unfinished. It's made out of a 38mm diameter aluminium tube, spare parts I had lying around like the glass eye part and the clamp. I used Wannawanga grips and bubble strip.

I'm also currently trying to build a hilt inspired of that early interpretation I really love, as it is sleek and elegant. I'm gathering junks and found parts to make it, I'll probably post progress pictures.

Made from a halogen torchiere lamp pipe. A little narrow in diameter and short, but it looks the part.
