Lucius Malfoy's Wand Cane

i was wondering if anyone had any methods of how to make his cane that the head of the snake comes off so you have the wand on attached. and if anyone has any suggestions on how to make the rest of the costume. thanks

yea i was looking into buying one at first but i think it would be cheaper to make one but no idea how to the head stay on because i do want it to be practical also.

I think it would be hard to get anything near accurate for the price you can just buy it for personally.

I am actually thinking about making this too. I was thinking maybe using a wooden dowel to do the wand part. and then using some sort of thin pvc pipe to do the cane part. then for the snakes head, sculpting it of clay around the end of the wood. Im not sure how it would work out, but it seems like a fun project.

I think that sounds like a good approach - that's how I'd probably tackle it too, although like teecrooz said, it may be simpler just to buy one given the mount of work involved in making one (the snake "fangs" for example are likely to break off unless you reinforce them).

The only thing I would say is that almost every review of the Lucius Cane I have seen has commented on how badly made they are which is a real shame. They look lovely from the outside, but everyone seems to suffer from bad scuffing when you remove the wand. Mine does it too and it really spoils the experience.
