Low(er) cost alternatives to these Smooth-On products?

I just wanted to check with the RPF folks to see if any of you happen to have tried any low-cost alternatives to the Smooth-On products; Smooth-Cast 305 (or similar), and Mold Star 15.

I think of Smooth-On as the name brand in silicone and resins. And when it comes to name brands, there are always alternative; less-known brands that have products of equal quality, but less cost.

Have any of you tried any other brands?

I live in Australia but I buy my casting from Speciality Resins in the US Even with shipping its cheaper. $89 for a 2 gallon kit

I too have used resin from Specialty Resins with good results and lower prices. I recommend you check them out.

The only problem I find with some of them (like Polytek), is that they on't give the amounts in Gallons, but instead is in lbs... which doesn't really help when I know how much I need volume-wise...
