Since I got recently two mannequins to display my costumes, I was able to set up my ithilien ranger display. Here are some pics I made today. Hope you like it.

Except for the bow anything else is made by me or with the help of my parents. 90% of the leatherwork is sewn by hand. I had pretty much fun sewing the parts together while watching lord of the rings.

Comments or constructive criticism are welcome. :)

Looks awesome! I love the display with the chest and map...nice touches!! Fantastic leather work too, kudos to you and your parents.

Awsome...stunning even. Now...tell us all the details. How did you go about it? What is the sword? What about the bow? :)

:love:love Love it! Great job making everything so authentic looking too... It'll definitely generate some conversations when people come over.

My only suggestion would be to get a good photo of yourself in the costume to blow up and frame to hang behind it. Not a pose in the living room or anything, but a candid shot in some woody setting... maybe looking at the map or something.

Sword and Gondorian buckles are made by my dad and myself. Unfortunately the buckles are a bit to large. I could see that at the lord of the rings exhibition which was displayed in potsdam/germany about half a year after I finished this costume. Maybe we will make some new ones, a little bit smaller. But this have to wait.

The sword is made of wood. Since this costume was made for RingCon 2006 I could not wear a real one. Maybe I will update this one also. I'm in touch with some blacksmiths for the blade.

As I mentioned before, the bow is the only thing I did not make myself. It was commissioned at mittelalterliches-handwerk.de. I sent him a couple of pics from the movie and he did a pretty amazing job on it.

I made this costume in 2006 and it was my first try to work with leather. So it took me a lot of time, but I think it was pretty much worth it.

Wow amazing really hoping to build a ranger costume myself how did you make the gauntlets I'm not very familiar working with leather.

Outstanding work. After I get my first couple costumes posted and amended per community feedback I REALLY wanna tackle something Middle-Earth, this was really inspirational to see.

Random question (for anyone really) how much does a good mannequin cost and does anyone have any links? I scratchbuilt a haphazard duct tape one and it's not quite working out haha.
