LOST - the unanswered questions thread (SPOILER discussion)

Whether or not you believe it is another matter entirely.

I could have used a line or two of dialogue in Season Two somewhere when they reveal that Des not resetting the 108 minute clock is what brought down the plane. "I dunno, brotha; the sky turned purple an' Ah ended up nekkid in the jungle wit' me twigs an' berries out wit' th' nanny, y'know? The electro-magnetic field Inman warned me about musta floated ya down like-a bird o' paradise, or somethin'."

I mean, anything. Otherwise, it's all magic beans and divine intervention.

Been messing around with this joke for a couple days... :lol

This new footage is a double edged sword. It's so cool...but it doesn't help the moving on aspect (which I was doing real well with). Gimme 10 seconds of Desmond reuniting with Penny and Charlie please.

I'm just going to say it...

Hurley... HURLEY ends the food drops?

So already we have yet another big gaping plot hole. :lol

Gotta say, seeing Ben again :love made me really, really miss the show. :cry

Oh, btw, over on the Lostpedia forums, someone has just posted what appears to be an incredibly elaborate hoax on the fans.

What reads like a drug induced NSFW story supposedly originally published before the show that includes names to characters like Jacklocke and John Shepherd and lists the Dharma Initiative as ' a group of sexy vampire killers with one thing on their mind 'being retarded'!

The fans over there aren't buying it for a SECOND, and have already argued the thing to implausibility. (Seriously, fans of a show like Lost aren't going to know how to do research?)

But the guy whose posting the photos of the cover and back of the book as well as excerpts and the copyright page is insisting if it's a hoax, he's the one being duped by his friend who said he bought it in 2001.

Kind of a funny thread...

Just watch it, feel sick to my stomach...

Is it just cause now it really is over? :lol

It was great seeing Ben, the Dharma and Hostiles stuff was disturbing, didn't like most of the rest of the explanations and direction... It wasn't terrible, but it was just not enough or something?

Need to process I think.

I loved watching it as it quenched the emptiness I have felt since the series ended:lol

Seriously though, I enjoyed it and am very much counting down till I can see the rest when I buy the season set:)

Wait, I just refreshed the page and now it says it's only a 4 minute video, they changed the video file. It did have the full 12 minute video up before. Glad I got to see it all before it changed.

Nah - I'm not going to buy that as 'proof' as an intentional name by the writers of Lost.

Here's why I reject it: Samuel was the fake name they gave to Titus as a place holder when he was cast. They gave all of the actors trying out for parts fake names and phony scripts because they couldn't guarantee secrecy any other way.

If you read through Lostipedia you'll see it right there in the production notes for Man in Black - Samuel was Titus's character's description.

Mark Pellegrino's (Jacob) was 'Jason'.

So while I can see people who need him to have a name settling on that, in my world, MIB isn't anymore "Samuel" than Jacob was Jason.

I prefer him as a nameless fear... :)

Finally got to watch it. I thought it was interesting but not really necessary. I was hoping more for what happened on the island with Hurley in charge rather than just have it be questions answered. Those questions weren't even really that big that they need answered.

About the theory of island being a sort of "purgatory" that's not true, it can't be, and they made it REALLY clear that point in the finale.
Sure thing the flash-sideways are set after their deaths, but Christian made it clear: "There is no time HERE", and he also explains that "everyone have to die (sooner or later)" so, the people who left the island could have lived for a LONG time before they died, but since the island was their strongest experience (not to mention it was "magic"), when they died, they have to go through this "what-if life" to accept the fact that they are dead and move on, we just saw that moment in "real-time" from their perspective.

The island was a real experience, Smokey was the "Christian" Jack saw on the island, the one we saw in the flashbacks was the real one when he was alive, and the one in the flash-sideways was again the real one, just in ghost form.

I think that when Ben said that he has job to do, he was talking about helping Walt on his new job, probably Hurley left his place as the new protector once Walt went in charge, and probably Walt is still alive and will be alive for a long time (if he's really "immortal" like Jacob).

Also Smokey became the smoke monster because he was "special" and because the fake mother has made the rule that Jacob and Smokey can't kill each other, so when Jecob threw him in the light his soul was detached from his body but he kept a sort of "physical" form (and that could be the reason why he needs a dead body to take human form)
