Lost Props from McFarlane

Heya guys, its been a couple of months, I had a doughter, so, I have to dedicate a lot of time now, but, I manage to take some minutes to show you some of the official props from McFarlane from the TV show Lost.

All of this props come with the action figures, and I finally got them all last monday.

Here we go......

Figures, with props:





First prop, Kates Mugshot, 100% accurate with the one I made, what i like is the Xerox type of look.




Walkabout brochure...honestly, very bad quality, if you look closely, youll see that it pixelated, very bad quality (for me)



Kates toy airplane, looks perfect, too bad its plastic, but for displaying its perfect.



Lotto ticket....I honestly like the one I made, and the one that one of the guys made here at the forum, good thing, is that we can actually see the back of it.




Russeaus Map of the Island, I honestly love this map, I will fram it, the only bad thing it has, its the paper that they used to make it, ITS PHOTO QUALITY!!!!! It should have been something like with no brightnes or something with an old looking style, but anyway, great prop.

And the Drive Shaft Ring, as well as the airplane, looks awsome, only for displaying, because its made of plastic.



All props are scaled 1/1, lifesize.

Yup, locke comes with the walkabout brochure, Kate with the airplane, Jack with kates mugshot, Charlie with the drive shaft ring, hurley with the lotto ticket, and shannon with russoes map.

With a little work, some of those props can be really great.

You can try spraying Russeau's map with a dull coat (but try it on the backside first) to get rid of that shine.

For Charlie's ring, I'd sand down the seams and respray it with alclad II (I don't remember the finish of the actual prop).

Im going to frame Russeaus map, and then the ring and the airplaine will go to my display room, so i will have them behind a glass door, so, they will look fine, thx for the tip though.

Funny thing is that's what the print industry has come down to theses days. Smaller clients supply low res jpgs cause "it's all they have" - gone are the days of quality. You should see some of the logos I've been sent (such as a business card to be scanned, then reproduced as a 3'x8' banner) and they don't want to pay to have the image recreated...

So, sadly, that brochure is a relatively accurate representation of what it would probably be.

Series 2 is now out. Here's a description of the props from Michael Crawford's Reviews:

All four figures come with the full sized prop replicas, but once again, this is an idea that only works in limited cases. Eko's replicas are actually very cool - two small Dharma slides. These actual slides look great, and make a ton of sense. The next good prop is with Sun. She comes with the Oceanic Air ticket sleeve, sans the ticket or any luggage claim tags. It's another item that would actually garner some discussion if you leave it laying on your coffee table. Sawyer and Jin don't fair quite as well, although both props are at least very specific to them. Jin comes with two very boring pages from his 'translation guide', done up on yellow ruled paper. That's one that's getting shoved in the accessory drawer. Sawyer does slightly better in theory, coming with the letter he wrote to the real Sawyer. Done on white ruled notebook paper, it looks pretty good, except for the fact that it's folded backwards (with the words on the outside, not the inside). While it sounds cool, it ends up being another fairly boring item, and lacks the realistic feel of the slides or the ticket folder.
