Hi Russ,

I wore a Gene Simmons costume a while back. Nothing special but it did the trick and turned out pretty good.

The two things that everyone thought really added to the costume were the 7" platform boots that put me at 6' 5" and the wild eyes or colored contact lenses. I had the Zebra (black and white) lenses...really made people give you a second look.

The boots were around $60.00 and the lenses were around $100.00 if I remember right.

Oh yeah, the make-up was a nightmare. I had cheap stuff that smeared and rubbed off easily. If I could do that over, I'd buy the proper make-up.

The wig was just black with a wave to it. Pinned it up so it had the bush hair on top to give it the Gene look.

As for the pants and jacket. I just picked up some black leather pants and wrapped a studded belt around it. And, the jacket was just a cheap plastic deal that looked like leather. I shoved a few 5" inch cones through the shoulder area to give it a some spikes. Then just added a few more studded belts here and there.

For me i made my boots cut tons of plastic mirrored pieces..

had my wig cut by a salon...lol

made all of it in half a month.

Nooooooo, not a strat.. I loaned my buddy a Les Paul for his Ace costume. He is a player and knew if he fudged it up, I would break him into wee tiny pieces, but it completes the look.

The WAY COOL costume makes up for the innacurate guitar. :thumbsup
