Hey guys. My name is Camille. I just joined and am looking to do my first cosplay. Almost all of it will be bought for this costume(Might try a more do it yourself on another cosplay in the future). I'm planning on wearing it for halloween and also hal-con(Upcoming halifax sci fi convention) and possibly Toronto's next dr who convention if they announce it soon.

So far Ive managed to find a few things that i will be getting to get my costume right. Seeing as I'm a woman and plus size i don't know if i want to do more of a female style ten or go all out and get a wig and fake sideburns(Ive done the fake sideburns before in a play before so don't mind it just don't know if i can pull it off)

Here is a photo of me. Suggestions on the wig or no wig very welcome. If i do go with a wig. I'm trying to find one that styled properly would work well. Suggestions welcome here as i have no experience with wigs.

I have optical white converse that i wore for my wedding that i can use(I know he wears high white ones but these are getting so well used their getting that slightly beige white look anyways)

I'm planning on getting the brown pinstripe suit and coat from here
Doctor Brown Poly Coat & Suit Cosplay Costume Custom - eBay (item 230390003334 end time Aug-14-10 23:04:29 PDT)

my sonic screwdriver here
Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver and Sonic Pen Set Preorder - eBay (item 260643391761 end time Aug-29-10 06:06:19 PDT)

I'm going to make a psychic paper by using a leather passport holder and modify it

I'm not really sure where to get the blue shirt(suggestions welcome)
Trying to find somewhere to buy the tie(Either the swirly one or the striped one). Found a tie that looks somewhat like his here

Its the closest so far Ive found but any suggestions to where I could find a better one would be appreciated
Ties.com - Textured Satin Stripe Tie by Jos. A. Bank - Black Silk

I'm not sure whether i want to go for 3D glasses or get his regular glasses. Though I could keep both in my pockets to fit my mood. Any suggestions on where to find glasses like he has welcome as well. I'm doing a bit of digging slowly and am having fun as I am a non diagnosed obsessive compulsive XD and when I start a project it has to be perfect. I'm on somewhat of a budget and it needs to be finished by October also but i am having fun trying to get this done. If i really like it, I know ill be doing all sorts of other cosplays in the future

If I am not mistaken, at one time a member here, Indy Magnoli, was offering a VERY close tie... Not sure if he is still doing so or not, but you might want to check with him. I am not sure on the other pieces.

Hi Camille,

There is an excellent and accurate tie that can be found in this thread:

The honest dragon suits and coats are decent and the price is definitely right, but, in my opinion, are not very screen accurate. If screen accuracy is very important for you, I would not recommend honest dragon.

Here is an in depth look at the different fabrics used for different takes on the suit (including honest dragon), with convenient links to where you can buy the respective suits (when applicable):

Making My Tennant Suit: Comparing fabrics

In fact, I recommend having a read through all of Steve's blog entries regarding his 10th Doctor suit and coat. Lot's of very helpful info!

I also quickly searched and found a discussion about the overcoat made by honest dragon so you can get an idea of what it does right and what it does wrong:

Good luck with your costume!

I most likely will be getting the tie from there. I love that swirly tie. As this is my first cosplay and i JUST got married(Those who have been married know how much it costs to get married lol) I cant affoard to get the jacket and suit from magnolia clothiers just yet.

For my first cosplay i will have to go with just a bit less accuracy to save money but if i like it im deffinetly getting a screen accurate costume in the future.

I would still like to try to find his dark striped tie also though

Well found glasses i think might do for my costume. Their reading glasses. I know his are usually a dark brown though. But could only find black ones. Suggestions welcome.
