Looking for OWK ROTS lightsaber part

Hello All,

So just about every part on the new ROTS lightsabers is a custom made piece, but I was looking at the OWK ROTS lightsaber and I think that the star shaped piece on the clamp which replaces the transitor is probably an off the shelp piece.

So who agrees with me and if it is an off the shelp item, what is it?

Weird.. I thought that part was a propeller-looking greeblie with three wings on the real prop. The type that is used on the ROTS Vader saber and the TPM Jedi comlink.
Anyone have good pics of the real prop for comparison? It was shown on C3 and elsewhere.

I didnt know Obiwan had a lightsaber in Return of the Jedi! :confused

Anyhoo, I beleive its a custom piece. The dimples onthe sides are suspiscios. besides, I firmly beleive this was jsut an MR ploy to be part of Star Wars history forever. -Make a unique looking prop.

MR didn't design the props...just replicated them.

I've always assumed it was a real part...I could swear I've seen soemthing very similar. However, I can't prove it, so for now i'm jsut talking out of my butt.

I bet you could get a gear that closely matches, place something small to elevate it a bit underneath it and vacuum form it. When the plastic pulls down it might make the edges look like the item on the saber.

Except that the edges are not rounded.

I think I could make one out of aluminum by cutting a disc from a rod and using a dremel and router bit at an angle... but it could be hard to get it exact "enough" by hand.

Could be a Torx security driver that has been modified.
