Does anyone have any reference shot's of ILM's Red-5 model or know where to find 'em online?

Thanks.

MR need more ref pics? I don't think much exists that isn't out there already. I hope more turns up though.

Amazingly, the only XWING that is IN the archives was the one recently photographed by someone here on the RPF.

How sad the only pics that may ever exist....have already been taken.

Im trying to get access to some photos shot 15 years ago by an someone very close to the company.

Man, I hope that pays off. The Red 5 ANH model is legendary... iconic. Would love to see those few undocumented areas that the promo and model kit company shots don't show. It's sad that we might never get to see HD footage of the filming miniatures, so archival pics are really our best shot. I know that someone in the model shop (or with access to the model shop) took 6 ways of all the ANH vehicles. Seen some of that stuff online and in books - usually in black and white with a rule for scale reference.

Good luck, Frank.

Email on it's way, Willie.

J:

Do you have any links to those B&W reference pics?

Tks.

I wrote both Lucasfilm and ILM asking for some better shots some months ago applealing to them the iconic status and the frustration of modellers.
Of course no response at all.

Remember it was repainted as Red 4 later, identified by its unique weathering.

Hey J.

Any chance that email could make its way to me too? (pretty please) :)

Thanks.

What he said. :)

Guys, all I have is what I too have gotten from the web, magazines, and Captian Cardboard's old forum, over the years. Every time I found a shot, I saved it or scanned it. It's nothing you X-Wing experts don't already have... sigh.

If i asked real nice and you have them Jason, got any new shots of the red Y, i just want to know anything i may have missed on my build and whether the small red markings on the hull are decals from one kit or another. I understand if you cant chare them though sir. Even if you have any that is lol.

I haven't IDed the decals on the red Y yet... but if/when I do, I'll post the "recipe" :)

My next Y will be good 'ol Red Jammer :)

Just need to get another MR Y.

Jason thanks, see what you can come up with, the pics i have are just too fuzzy to see what they may be, im close to completing her, got her on a panavise and black plexiglass base, maybe a bit of re touching on the weather job, but its as close as i can get her.
