Looking for old Fett Armor to help out some kids.

Bear with me please. There are 4 kids down the street who have been trying to make Fett armor over the last year with little progress. :( They do not have any $$ so they have been heating and unrolling scrap 8" PVC pipe for material and using T shirts to glue them to. They also have an asortment of home made sabers and man do they go after each other like pro's. Really quite impressive..... :eek

Anyway, i have seen some real killer and pricy armor out there but there has got to be cheaper sets out there. Anyone out there have spare, damaged or otherwise really cheap Fett armor they want to get rid of? Old, broken, chipped, anything that i can help them keep going with? I love seeing the creative juices in kids and want to help keep it going if i can. If not, thanks for reading and no, this is not a ploy to get myself armor. Too busy building an R2 for that.

I know there is a guy on ebay that sells inexpensive boba armor out of sentra. I think it's 30-35 bucks. Haven't really looked in a while. You may want to post this over at the Dented Helmet for a better response.

Thanks for the help. Honestly, i am not one of the kids. Too old to swing a saber like they do. Too afraid to get hit. I am building an R2 which they would love to do as well but.....

I think a lot of guys here have heard stories from new members saying they want to "help some kid(s) so can someone please sell (or give) me cheap parts." I'm not saying that's what you're doing, but maybe we're a little jaded, so be patient. Are you an R2Builders member? Let's see pics of the little guy. (R2 that is).

i know a kid that really wants a 1:1 R2....

his name is ken... wierd coinkydink huh?

LOL.

JK man, yeah lets see some pics.

Yes, I am a R2bulders member, very new to the RPF and i do see your point with being jaded. I have been working on my R2 for about 6 months. Following the Mike Senna School of though. Spent alot of that time making CNC wood programs for the legs and frames for myself and other R2 builders.

We also have had the "sob stories" with R2's and untill now never occured to me that i was doing the same. Sorry if that offended anyone.

Here is a link to my progress pictures. Not up to date as over the last 2 weekend i was able to aquire and mount 90% of the resin pieces for the legs and should start painting the legs next week. (The weekends were made possible a huge thanks to a few fellow RPF member.)

So, again. honestly it is not for me and is for a group of 4 kids down the street. Range in age from 15 to 17.

Slave1pilot, yes this is Matthew. Same kids i spoke about over the weekend. Pmail sent.

Hey guys,
I know Matthew
He was at "the Shop" this past weekend discussing those kids.
He's an R2 guy, plain & simple. He had some R2 parts there & they look really awesome
No interest in Fett at all (what a freak :rolleyes )

Anyway, I just wanted to say that he's pure of heart & isn't trying to work any angles.

Nathan,

Thanks for the support. Pmail me more about the kit you were telling me about over the weekend.

Matthew

Thank you Richie for the spare Fett parts. They will be delivered this weekend and we will see what the boys come up with.

M.

Quote"Here's an easy way to make your own set of chest/collar armor and shoulder bells for under $20. You will need two STERILITE plastic garbage cans (available at Wal-Mart). Get one 13 gallon and one 8 gallon. Use the 13 gal trashcan to make the chest/collar armor as well as the abdomen and center diamond pieces. Use the 8 gal trashcan to make the shoulder bells. I actually used the 8 gal trashcan for my abdomen piece because the curvature fit me better. These garbage cans are oval shaped which gives the armor the proper curve for it to fit your torso."

I can attest to the awesomeness of this method. I was hesitant at first but when I got done I am now very satisfied with the results. you're in luck - I just took some pics a week or so ago.

if you're thrifty with your pattern placements you can do as I did and pull a whole set of armor from the same 2 'cans. PM me if you want some details...
