I think it'd help if the windvane weren't upside down, but I still don't like that dang hilt.

Those scorch marks sure looks like they were madr with a tig welder.. not using any filler rod, just using the tungsten to melt it, making those baby circles

Danny, I was thinking the same thing. Either someone used a TIG torch, or Oxy/Acetylene torch to get that "repair stitch/weld" look!

Idk I’m not a professional welder. But I watch my friend and he makes these circles in stainless with just using the tungsten

I wonder if they removed the finish before they torched it?!

Those “heat marks” surrounding it looo artificial to me..

My biggest question is the heat should turn the finish purple/blue almost instantly no?

I have a romans Gen1 around here somewhere... maybe bring that to my friend see if he can make that mark with out turning it blue/purple..

I can see that Rey's lightsaber is supposed to be a piece of her staff, but I can't help but see a shortened Maul saber every time I look at it.

Well, there are bronze brazing rods, so maybe they got it just hot enough to melt the rod and for it to stick to the flash. I dunno. Or like you said, maybe just used the tungsten to melt the chrome away. If you do it fast enough, the heat will stay pretty localized, so that might explain the lack of discoloration around it, plus, some of it could be easily polished away.

And yeah, all I see are Maul parts when I look at her staff/saber.

I was disappointed that she didn't turn her staff into a double saber.

Plus it's yellow too, which would have given it a little nod to Bastila Shan.
