Has anyone recently had any experience with this? I've seen previous posts including arguments that some get through or that they will always be seized by customs when shipped from the US to Canada

A phone call placed to Canadian border services did not help very much, I was basically told that it was a case by case basis so it could depend on the border agent, and that the best thing I could do was to fill out the declaration form honestly with the description of the product.

Any info would be greatly appreciated thanks!

You should have the person shipping it to you list it as a " Halloween Costume Toy ".
If you label it as a " prop replica gun " they will likely open it.

They are very strict on gun replicas & especially airsofts.
The rules for airsofts are that they must be clear & see thru with an orange end cap. :rolleyes

Your best option is to buy it within Canada if possible.

Actually some part of the Airsoft gun needs to be clear or tinted clear plastic, usually the frame. The orange tips are for the USA.
If you go to places like Canadian Tire or Walmart the entire gun is usually clear and will have the orange tip due to being shipped from the USA. The problem with these are they are usually cheap junk!
If you order pieces through airgun sites in Canada you can get them in full metal, in fact I have several that can be taken apart and look very close to it's real counterpart. These are usually not cheap but worth it if you don't want to buy a real gun!
I have never ordered anything like a Star Wars Blaster by mail but if I did I would describe it as "a copy of a Star Wars Blaster prop used in the film"! Canadian Customs I have found does not like the terms, REPLICA, FIREARM, GUN, WEAPON, you get the idea! The biggest problem with Star Wars blasters is they look like modified "real" firearms and that in itself can lead to questions by Customs!
Hope this helps, Petseal

hi

I don't understand your comment here you have answered your own question

it comes down to you wanting to take the risk or not

there is no magical wording or telling the truth that will get what you want into Canada

even having it painted or cast in bright pink resin does not improve it's chances of getting in

I only know of 1 company who went thru the trouble of getting approved thru the CBSA which was QMx for the first offering of this as I asked them

Official Malcolm Reynolds Stunt Pistol Replica

I have seen stuff in comic book shops in Canada at break the bank pricing so there is a way, have to be a business? fill out paper work deal with CBSA ect ect ect

again it is hit a miss I was told if it looks like a gun (general public) it's seized

I have had some success over the years
MR Jango Blaster over 8 years ago
MR Han Blaster over 8 years ago
HWCC Fifth Element Korban Blaster over 2 years ago
Bronze cast of a Boba Fett Flare gun over 8 years ago

NOT ONE OF THESES WAS LABELED AS A GUN what can I say it's hit a miss

what is it your after
