Looking for a scaled fabric?

Hey guys. I was wondering if anyone had a line on who has a scaled fabric by the yard. Don't just throw up "go look at Jo-Ann's "..been to the big chain fabric stores.

By scale I mean more like scale mail...but I'd rather it be a small, tight pattern rather than big scales. Also, I'm not really looking for snake scales, but more like Captain America wears.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you have the temperament and time, you can make a decent-looking scale cloth yourself.

Thanks! I've emailed that motorcycle upholstery shop to see if they'll sell that fabric by the yard. I've also emailed brad4fun to see if he'll screenprint a waffle pattern on there.
