London Comic Con - Cosplay weapons?

Hi All

The Missus and I are off to our first Comic Con this October. She's quite excited to be meeting Michael Shanks, so wants to do an SG1 uniform (Black one from series 9-10).

As I want to build something for her (expecting to pickup most of the actual costume from army surplus), I was thinking about doing a P90 with sling. However, I'm worried that it's not going to be a great idea for her to be carrying a bullpup around London, however briefly.

What are your thoughts? Should I scrap the idea, and go for a Zat instead? If we keep the P90 covered until we get into the convention, is that ok, or is an armed response team still likely to show up?

Thanks

Shaun

P90 looking like more trouble than it's worth. Have just spoken to an airsoft shop, and they don't recommend taking any kind of realistic looking replica out in public.

Personally as someone who plays airsoft I would never use an airsoft weapon as a part of a costume outside of an airsoft site (which incidentally I at one point used to wear an SG-1 costume and carry a P90) but that is partly because I know how close airsoft was to disappearing in the UK a few years ago.

If i were you I would go for a Zat, easier to buy and easier to carry, with airsoft in the UK now you need a defense to buy a RIF otherwise you get one painted a bright colour, so unless your a skirmisher or a re-enactor its probably more trouble (and expense) than its worth.

While we are on the subject of Zats I have one and a holster that I may be willing to part with, hit me up with a PM if you are interested and I will get you pictures.

I know in belgium you can Carry a P 90 just leave Battery Out and tape the end in a brought color just don't wave it outside ;) don't know for uk though
