Would love some advice/insight on this one, if anyone has ideas. I'm trying to replicate the light-up Kryptonian globe from Lois & Clark (season 1, "Foundling") but am honestly not sure how the map of Krypton was applied to the base creation. I feel it was either likely an airbrush/paint situtation, or a pinted decal of some kind. Either way, it was dark enough to seem solid when "resting," and light enough for the bulb light to shine through.
Anyone have any ideas on how this effect was accomplished? I've bought an LED globe and would love to make it as accurate as possible.
