Does any one remember the little metal flying bird from speed racer that would come out of the front of the car ?

I used to think that was the coolest thing ever, and I'd never get to own one. Well after I saw this video, where his guy and his son make a RC f22 raptor that was like 6 inches from nose to tail, It flew very well and for a long time on a short charge. I can't find the video now but this one will do.

Every body seems to be making their own little airplanes now. So now is the time for me to get something I've always wanted. Problem is I don't remember exactly what it looked like.

So does any one have any pictures of the little metal bird from speed racer ?

If it was anything like the transformers plane in your first post, I think you could controll the plane with the 2 propellers, speed one up faster than the other, and it turns. It might just work on speed controll too, speed it up and it climbs, slow it down and it decends. Cut the power, and restart it and it does a flip.

I remember when I was a kid, and we had a huge hobby store by us (Stanton hobby shop), they had model planes. I wanted my dad to but me an RC plane, untill he explaned that they were $100's of dollars, and they were easy to crash, there goes the plane and your money...

If these were available 25 years ago.. I would have gotten my RC plane :cry

I have one of those mini helocopters... it's cool :)

There are a ton of guys making these themselves right now for very cheap. If you look around you will find ones like this all over.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=osuecjZr_a8There are only two control surfaces and a little less than a square foot of surface area and no air foil (but I bet it would help). This is the best video of a home made scratch built that I've found http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szURbTq-rBg&feature=fvw . Looks very cool and easy to build and cheap. There have been a lot of things in life I didn't get because they cost to much for me to justify buying . A big cool RC plane used to be one of them.

I hope you get one too.
