Hi Emma. I just spent the last 20 minutes creating a profile just to be able to say this:

The props look fantastic. Obviously the Master Sword and Hylian Shield had my eyes widening with desire but my favourite items are actually the bow and the bottle. Recreating Young Link's taunt from Melee would give me no end of pleasure. :-D

A question, possibly a daft one but I'll ask it anyway. Are there any arrows to go with that? (if not why not? ) and is there any functionality to be had from the bow?

Aww thanks a lot! I actually have one arrow made out of wood, but i'm actually looking for proper arrows, i'm not sure to know where to get them... Where i'm living, in France, there's a medieval shop, so hopefully i'll be able to find some good ones for this cosplay!
And yes! The bow actually works, it's a real bow string on it, and there's a function of motion with the bow extremities, so it bends like in the video game

Didn't take any pictures yet! I kinda want to make the chainmail now (thanks verdaera for the link btw )! The thing is that my entire outfit is in France at the moment, and i'm living in Scotland, mainly for my studies, i should be able to take some pictures during the summer , as soon as i got new pictures, i'll update this thread for sure and let you know
I can't want to get pictures of the full outfit to be honest hehe! I've been making this cosplay for more than 2 years now! But i'm getting closer and closer now ! Thank you so much guys for all of the compliments!

I have seen someone take a loose knit sweater and spray paint it silver to give the effect of chain mail without the weight.

I used some of her techniques for a viking costume. She has some interesting ways to alter items and make them look awesome.

Yay! Legend of Zelda!
You don't have to have a full chain mail. Just a 2.5 cm (1 inch) trim around the collar, shirt bottom, and shoulders sewn to the costume.

I actually did this for someone else's Link costume, it saves SOO much weight. If you go this route I suggest using a very sturdy shirt to pin this to, or even better pin it to the inside of the green tunic. The girl I made one for gave me a very flimsy girls undershirt, it had very short sleeves and thin fabric which ended up forcing me to make a lot more maille to cover the sleeves and stretched the undershirt.
