We've just added a new piece of furniture art to the website... this one was initially a private commission but we're now offering several more in an extremely limited edition.

As with any commission, it began with a client's requests. Richard Riley and I designed the piece, starting with the client's guidance and drawing inspiration from elements of Captain Kirk's bridge chair and the Emperor's throne. I feel the result is a sleek new design with a clean look.

Crafted in custom welded steel, the chair is an impressive functional art piece that is well over four feet tall and features an adjustable pedestal. It's made to appear to “float” on 8 hidden wheels and the custom upholstery is real leather (at the client's request). The finish is powder-coated gloss black for a classy and durable surface. Naturally, for future incarnations of this piece, clients will have their choice of upholstery color options... we'd also love to work in some other neat extras like a cupholder or maybe a flip up panel to store your remotes in.

For those that don't know, we're available for all sorts of custom work... Furniture Art - Custom Mannequins - Sculpture-Busts-Statues and Movie Prop Displays and Restoration, just to name a few.

Thanks and enjoy the pics!
Tom

BTW, that's Richard in the pic... proudly sitting on the throne! (boy, that sounds like a punchline! :lol)

best,

Niiiice! You need to rig that thing to play the Emperor's theme as you slowly swivel it around! :D

I can picture Philip from RS having this chair sitting behind the carbonite desk in his SW rom... or does he already?

thanks guys!

No, this one's going to another collector, not Philip (though I can see this fitting nicely in his SW room!).

General Anesthesia (great name, BTW!) - it's a substantial piece... weight is close to 200 lbs!
