For those familiar with Cub Scouts in the US, every year a pinewood derby competition is held. Each scout is given a block of pine and four wheels from which he can build the car of his dreams. All the cars are raced as well as prizes given for most imaginative, patriotic, etc...
In effort to keep families (i.e. Dads) from building their kid's cars, our troop has a "geezer" league where other family members can enter their own cars. My entry was a lightsaber-based car. It's by no means accurate, nor was it very fast, but we had fun with it.
