Lightsaber hero prop weight?

Keep in mind that the Darksaber's weight is not based upon its mass; it is correlated to the wielder's attunement with the blade - or rather, to the Force that powers it.
Lightsabers are supposed to have a have a "spin" to them that the wielder has to counteract to wield the lightsaber. I assume that there's something similar in the Darksaber that he's fighting, which is in line with this "force" that you are saying powers it, but is a more in universe explanation, I guess?

In the real world, when you're using a sword you need to work with it, not against it, and I suspect that, as you're stating, it would have been the case due to George Lucas basing it all on Chanbara films and the like, where they taught the students that the sword had to become part of you.

My ANH converted graflex weights just about 19 ounces. The real one probably was little more because of whatever piece the rivets hold on the inside. 3 batteries weight about just as much 18-19 oz (according to the internet, I don't have any :) ).

To me 19 is already not super comfortable on the belt, but 19 or 38 is not much of a difference in my hand.
I can't say if what we see when Luke runs is consistent with 19 or 38 ounces weight, but for me the way the graflex swing and bounces around is because it is not very heavy. Mark even puts his finger in the d-ring and just hangs it like that in Obi's house.

I believe there were already no batteries inside at least when they were shooting these scenes :

I would never add batteries to mine, mostly because I’d be worried about leakage.

If I did, I guess I’d finally have a use for those random vintage batteries I’ve ended up with over the years buying various antiques.

Yes, my earlier point about the Darksaber's weight was from an in-universe perspective. While I recall hearing how that George Lucas wanted the lightsabers to look very heavy and hard to wield in ANH and then appear lighter throughout the rest of the OT as the Jedi became more proficient with them (and more closely aligned w/ 'The Force'), I feel like I've heard some specific reference to the Darksaber having more sensitivity to the user's connection than other lightsabers - but I can't remember and/or quickly locate a reference explicitly stating that. With that said, I'm now wondering if those references were just making it a bigger deal b/c they would've been explaining it in terms of a non-Jedi wielder, i.e. the Armorer to Din Djarin in Mando Season 1, Kanan Jarrus to Sabine Wren in SW Rebels, etc.

That's actually my real thought-- they can't use The Force, so they have to fight harder.
