Lighting question - not really model related

I have a lighting question, not really model related, but I know some of you have experience with LEDs. I have one of the new SW Unleashed Boba Fett figures and I thought it would be cool to put a light under the base. I was thinking of using LEDs, possibly a cluster, but those are like $40 online. Anyone have any ideas?
