Deffo mate. :D

He's 50" long by 35" high, approximately.

Hey thats cool. I have always wanted something like this to put on the wall. This one looks much better than most of the Great White shark heads i've seen on ebay and fishing shops.. The paint job actually looks pretty good from the pics. Just needs some attention here & there to make it perfect.
Is the manufacturer printed on it anywhere?
nice score.

Thanks man - no sign of any manufacturer anywhere on the piece. It's made from fiberglass. I think it's an older piece judging by the overall look of it and finish. Could be it was a one-off made for the university some time back.

A couple more pics:

A whaaaat...?

Excellent Great White head :thumbsup .

I love sharks here is one of my favourite shark pics which almost certainly proves a great white of respectable size could swallow a man whole. The photo is of a Great White swallowing a whole 2.10 Meters Dusky Shark. The Dusky Shark was hanging at the stern during a fishing competition.

Cheers Chris.

Great photos and a great addition to a prop collection, If you could call it that ;) . I found the pics quite amusing :lol .

Congratulations on a great piece.

I think I know who might of made it.

Twenty years ago ,give or take, I met a doctor in Florida that was a BIG shark fan and all around nice guy.
He had thousands of sharks teeth catalogued by size and species.Included in his collection was a cast of a prehistoric sharks jaw over six feet across.
He sold casts of teeth, jaw sets and of a shark head very much like yours to museums around the world.

I saw a complete casting in his shop with multiple rows of teeth, acrylic eyes and a great paint job.
Scared the hell out of me. I know the awe you must have felt when you first saw your piece.

I think he made several versions for different prices.
The fiberglass mold of the thing was HUGE...

Now this part is fuzzy so bear with me.
I believe he said it was a copy of a casting of THE shark, A shark or ONE of the sharks, caught in New Jersey during the summer that those people were killed in the attacks that inspired Jaws.
That's what I remember him saying.I make no claims to the authenticity of it.

I did help him make a fiberglass mold of a nine and a half foot great white that year that was caught not far from where I used to surf.
On a side note, the first shark fin I saw surface in the water while surfing was also the last time I went surfing.

Reguardless of it's possible history it's a great piece and I hope you enjoy it for a long time.

All the best,
Chuck...

ohhh, no kidding :confused You'd be able to smell the fear in the water alright if that were me.

They're great fish though and like a lot of you guys I've always been fascinated by them. I still have a large hardback book by Ron and/or Valerie Taylor somewhere that's a great book.

Congrats on the ultimate bath toy Al, I looked for something similar a while ago and found a place selling 6-7 foot fibreglass Hammerheads not sure if they're cast from a real one but they look nice.

:lol Now that would be a great idea. - only don't put it on the swimming pool wall, fix it to the bottom of the pool beneath the diving board so that it's the first thing people see apparently rushing towards them as they plunge in.
