I want to make a casting of my face, Ive seen smooth-on has some life casting materials, anyone have any reccomendations on what to use? thankyou :)

Try www.monstermakers.com. They have a lifecasting kit you can buy that has everything, or if that's too much moolah, just buy the essentials. You'll need alginate to apply to your face, as well as plaster bandages to reinforce the alginate. Other than that, DON'T forget to vaseline your eyebrows and any facial/head hair that could come in contact with the alginate as it dries. A good assistant is always a lifesaver when it comes to lifecasts--especially your own.

Hope this helps.

I'd talk to Davidyr1, he did a lifecast on my face last weekend at a convention. Took 20 minutes and turned out great. He can tell you exactly which products to use.

Basically it involved a silicone release applied to the hair (eyebrows and eyelashes) as well as the general face. The a thin coat of a silicone paste, followed by a thicker coat. Then some plaster strips were applied to help the mold keep its shape. The plaster was removed, then the silicone was slowly peeled off my face and voila. A full mold ready for Resin.
