Licensed Pulse Rifle pre-order

Here is what Matt says.

To clarify a few things:

"The picture is the first production prototype, it's the piece that sorted out the shape of the unit, so it looks solid because it is.

The launcher has a bolt latch similar to the real 870 so when the pump grip is fully forward it remains closed.

The shrouds will be two piece aluminum.

There has been a lot of work put into this thing in order to get a reasonable compromise between functionality, metal content and price.

Many of the sacrifices made , notably the resin instead of metal, Thompson and grenade launcher, and the lack of 'full' electronics, were made in order to give you metal shrouds, barrel vent and stock.

As far as the vent and stock solid resin would certainly cheapen the look of the piece and as far as metal shrouds, well it's a forgone conclusion that those are the single most desirable factor.

The lack of a "full function" electronics kit was to keep the price down and hopefully eliminate possible problems that sometimes occur with complicated electronic setups. (I know this first hand)

All these issues were juggled and prioritized, added and eliminated in order to keep the price reasonable. HCG did not want to make a solid resin gun for $200 or an all metal super 'hero for $4000, The sub $1000 price is (we hope) what will make the HCG PR accessible to the majority of collectors."

*Bows repeatedly to Matt and HCG*
We're not worthy! We're not worthy! We're not worthy!

Thanks Tom, I feel the love! ;)

Unfortunately the border guards wouldn't be too pleased. I've heard they could seize a piece of toast if it was shaped like a gun. :rolleyes

I better not get a second payment notice ...i paid less than a week ago

here is what the webpage states

The cost of your item will be broken into six separate equal payments. The first payment will be deducted from your credit card at the time of ordering. The next four payments will be charged to your credit card on the 16th of the following four months. The final payment will be charged to your credit card when your item is ready to ship and will also include all applicable taxes and shipping costs.

So I order in May my next payment is June 16th

Yeah, I thought that was sort of weird.

I chose the (4) payment plan and made the first payment on 5/8 - I just now received my second notice payment.

I made the 2nd payment but that went by rather quickly ...

Based on the payment terms, it looks like just bad timing. First payment when you order, next on the 16th. Since it only went on sale a week ago, 2 payments got lumped together.

I wonder if you can call and negotiate it to the first of the month, instead of the 16th.
