Im glad we found an easy fix for the problem and Id hate for this issue to cause a company like HCG to go bankrupt. Im pretty sure that if everyone decided to return their PRs for a refund thats pretty much what would happen. They really stuck their necks out to bring us this product. Im sure that they didnt even make as much of a profit at they thought they would (if they made any at all in the end) after all hassle it must have been to get this thing to be even as good as it is now. The R&D much have been a fortune.
If they are being careful with refunding money Im sure there is a reason. I dont think its greed. It might be just be for the sake of survival.

I'm glad the ambient heat+gravity (and a watchful eye) trick is a potential fix, for some. I was pondering on this a few pages back, when it came to shipping the rifles and how they were oriented in their boxes... a shipping container probably gets damn hot on that long trip from China to HCG in Miami, PLUS there's the UPS hike from FL to your door. Lots of time for resin pieces to get a little toasty and for their weight to cause some warping/droopage...

And if it's still Horribly Bad, at least HCG is offering refunds. Their communication seems still a little hit and miss but I think anyone who REALLY doesn't want theirs can get a refund with persistence.

And I thought these were the Armat M41a Pulse Rifle, not Edsel... :lol

I tried some heat on mine last night..
Absolutely no effect.

First of all, the two screws that go through the top of the barrel cage, and into the SPAS would have to be removed, in order to get the SPAS to move by way of weight and heat alone.. So I seriously question the post where the spas cage moved by its own weight alone. :confused

Im sure I will get blasted for that comment, but Ive been looking at the prop for awhile now, and structurally, the barrel would definately keep the SPAS from moving, unless it was:

-Detached by undoing the 2 screws.
-Or had some serious pressure on it with a combination of alot of heat.

Im unwilling to take the gun apart to fix it, since I wont be able to return it, if I do.. So back it goes...

You know, even though both my PRs are acceptable (not perfect; acceptable), like many, I am really not impressed with the way HCG has handled this. That last email says so much, all of it negative, and not the least important being that it confirms that they are aware of the many complaints being made in online forums and have clearly chosen not to address them directly at all.

I can't see myself doing business with this company again. It's not the fact that '4 or 5' of their PRs have turned out to be defective; it's their entire response that leaves a very sour taste. Off now to cancel those 2 pre-orders for other items that I placed just a few weeks ago. I would suggest that anyone else who is put off by their attitude do the same. Might send a message (but probably not.)

While I would tend to agree this issue has been blown out of proportion and that some licensees are easily overwhelmed by the collective cry of forums like this... man... that response is not what I would have expected. Where is MR Amy to smooth ruffled feathers when you need her?

That reply from HCG is incredibly uncool. While they say the issue is being blown out of proportion, they are also downplaying it when really they should be focusing on making each customer happy. It IS an issue, large or small.

I suspect they're keeping any remaining PRs, possibly for replacements, or for inspection and a future close-out sale. They probably cannot get any additional rifles from the manufacturer and are treating this as a 'limited run' in the truest sense of the word.

I agree with HGC that the issue is being blown out of proportion, but to state that there are only 4 or 5 PL's with the problem is just stupid.

I'm very NOT impressed with HGC at this time and I used to think a lot of them with how they handled the Fifth Element Electronics fiasco.

Their e-mail to me said that they'd check it before sending it to me to make sure it was "tip-top".

I don't like their meaning for tip-top. :confused

Mine has a droop, not bad, but noticeable.

A loose battery cover (which initially stopped me removing the mag until I managed to free it).

The stock locking pin was jammed down hard, but I managed to lever that free.

I think you're being too kind. That is beyond bad in my book. Granted, I am also seeing a bit of lens distortion in the photos (damn long PRs) so I will reserve judgement untill I see my own rifle next week.

I'm not seeing any over-reactions. I think I've seen maybe two posted that look reasonably straight, and all seem to suffer from poor resin, iffy paintjobs and numerous other quality control issues, particularly around the mag setup.

Could those triggers be any more flimsy?

A thousand bucks, a year and a half wait and an utterley unsatisfactory response that borders on a big FU to the customers. Overreaction?

To Art and other that are being somewhat self-righteous in their response to people voicing their displeasure - your seemingly low standards seem to be in the minority both here and on the AL.

Wanting to keep in the licencees good books, or not bothered 'cos yours is gonna get cut up makes you part of the problem, not the solution, imho :unsure

DDarrens looks like a total hangover job. Mine has some slop that can be nit picked but no where near the wonkyness of his. Overall its a good looking piece. Paint near perfect. A little rattle in the shotgun silver part, and the pump grip needs to be tightened up a tad.

I'm not one of the ones who is cutting mine up for parts and and I'm certainly not trying to keep in anyones good books, because they have no idea who I am.

That being said, I think people have completely overreacted. I'm not saying that some people have QC issues, they do and they should be fixed, but some of the biggest complainers in this thread have been people who have not even received their rifles yet.

I'm reserving judgement until I do receive mine and as long as it is decent or I can fix the droop on mine, I'm going to be happy with it. If it looks like 90 percent of the pictures I've seen in this thread, I'll be keeping it without any complaints.

I received pulse rifle number 97/250 olive drab and it looks perfect to me.

Makes me happy I’ve avoided any problems

There is nothing preventing the barrel from sliding forward or backward within the support ring, thusly if the spas unit rose or fell the the barrel vent would go with it and the barrel would extend or retract minutely. The screws in the vent will not prevent the spas from moving.

Ok before i start i have not received an hcg pulse rifle , but i have read every post in this thread ,and imho , if you bought this solely for the purpose of striping the shrouds , then your opinion isnt valid ( not trying to be rude )(mine isnet really either ) , but for those who bought this for what it was suppose to be.. 1 year of extra waiting so this would be the end all be all pulse rifle . got screwed . the shrouds , from what everyone says are awesome , but everthing else is not even close ( maybe im jaded , because i have owned a couple mastucorp pr's ) but when you can by an 80 dollar reject kapowee pr with much better detail , then you have'nt gotten what you paid for . yep aluminum shrouds for under a grand , if thats what they were going to sell , then thats what they should have advertised . but this is all just my opinion , i could be wrong
