Licensed Pulse Rifle pre-order

Propstore are also doing a 6 monthly payment plan but worryingly after enquiring at HCG, I received this in an email today
"At the moment I do not know if the PropStore will be supplying these or not. Perhaps shortly we will know but at this moment in time I have not heard the final outcome of that decision."
I assumed it was a done deal ?

Were you inquiring in regard to the rifle in general or the OD version?
It seems odd Propstore would be excepting preorders for the replica if they were not certain as to whether they would be selling it.

Even if the shrouds are riveted together, they're metal. You should be able to drill the rivets out without damaging anything and then just pop them together after your mods with new rivets.

The think I think us modders will have the most trouble with is running LEDs down the barrel. Something tells me it'll be a faux barrel and not hollow; just the first inch or so drilled out. But I suppose it won't be too difficult to get a piece of steel tube stock from a local metal supplier.

If they are taking money then yes you'd think so.

Strange.

It looks like the Propstore is only offering the "Hero" BB version. I would say it's a fair bet that the 250 OD versions aren't leaving the US. (This is just a guess.) Currently Propstore's payments status reads as follows:

"NB: This item is a pre-order, cards will not be charged until the item is ready to ship."

I'm guessing it's all going to be just a matter of solid numbers before it's called a done deal. :confused

It was a general enquiry about delivery from the U.S and their provisions to assist getting it through customs

Their full reply was -

"Thank you for your email! We do have several customers with the same concerns with customs. We can tell you that we will be working diligently to provide all information that this is a non-functioning replica resin movie prop. Everything and anything that we can do to ensure the safety of the arrival we will be doing.

At the moment I do not know if the PropStore will be supplying these or not. Perhaps shortly we will know but at this moment in time I have not heard the final outcome of that decision.

If you have any further questions please feel to contact me again!

Have a wonderful day."

Thanks for the reply, Megamicrofish.
I don't foresee there being a problem with retailers importing. However, I do believe those who are privately importing this replica are taking a risk.

On a side note, this piece is now also available to preorder through Play and Forbidden Planet in the UK. Albeit at a dollar to pound straight conversion.

Hi Guys,

Okay to clear up a few questions;

Yes, the Propstore are definitely selling it.

The shrouds will be in 2 pieces & screwed together not riveted

The shrouds will not be sold separately

The bolt does pull back, on a spring so that it closes again (very observant Tom!)

Think that covers most questions!

Mark

Are they numbered? Or come with a number plaque or anything?

If so, I ordered 1 of each. Can I get matching numbers? That would be pretty sweet! :love

Yes, they will have a plaque, and yes they will be numbered.

Should be able to get you matching numbers. Remind me nearer the time and I will make it happen.

He's talking about the Tommy there... :D

Dangit. Sorry, not too good on my gun terminology. I'm still curious on whether the grenade launcher pump (If that's what you call it) is loose or if there's some form of mechanism that keeps it in place like the Tommy gun portion just described.

Sorry, but I can't construct sentences to save my life.

According to a post by Matsuo (who was a consultant to HCG on this project) at the Aliens Legacy Forum, the grenade launcher will NOT rack. I guess that means it just slides back and forth.

Aww. So if I do a "Aim for the sky" shot, that thing is going to come crashing down? I hope it's at least not too loose.

I presume that it's a friction fit and will not slide unless you actually work the grip with your hand. It would be oh so lame if the grip moved forward and backward on its own every time you pointed the PR up or down! :confused

No he says in that same thread, its a latch bolt similar to a real M870, so when its up it stays up.
