Hmm... I can't really make out the finer details in the pic, so I can't be 100% sure, but it looks inaccurate in various places. (not that I'm a bona fide BC expert mind you)
- Buckles seem to loosely hook, they should "loop around and spring lock" when closed
- Cuffs seem oddly shaped and possibly have too much stitching
- Collar seems wrong. The original is single-layered (i.e. done "cheaply") this seems more like a "proper" jacket.
- It has the big horizontal seam going across the front. Even the "real" J Logan replica has that (to cut costs) but it isn't supposed to be there.
- Color seems way off, even taking color-correction of the photo into account.
I wonder what kind of hide is being used? There's quite a difference between cowhide and deerskin (like the original had) for example. I'd take cowhide over anything for a motorcycle jacket, but the Browncoat is supposed to flow like a cotton duster from the old west, so you definitely don't want thick/stiff hide.
I don't mean to be a downer. It's
great that someone is offering them, especially if they are "official" but it doesn't look as good as some of the others out there (like the AS). It's definitely the Firefly coat at any rate. The one in Serenity had different (squared?), more scifi-ish looking buckles and that rubber shoulder pad greeblie.

EEEP. Bit too spendy for my tastes, but glad they're making a licensed replica. Go Firefly.

Edit - Makes me wonder if this is a licensed "Serenity" item, or a licensed "Firefly" item. If it's "Firefly" then I think this would be the first actual licensed replica Fox has allowed. Could be a good sign that they are starting to see some value out of the series they torpedoed.
