    This is 1 of 2 display units in the main area of my house. Almost all of the rest of my collection is in my office on shelves though I do have my swords and FX sabers wall mounted. The swords are on a standard pegged wall rack painted in metallic copper and the sabers are hang on clear hooks with metal rings to support. I'll get pics for you tomorrow. :)

    Clink the link in my sig to see my collection site...

    http://www.spinacantina.com (edit to update the link)

    I tried to take a clean approach to my displays. Make the props the focus, ya know? For screen used bits I always try to print out a photo from the film and a small 2x5 card in a clear angle frame.

    Some of my cases were cheap 6' bookcases with custom made (by a screen door place) white-trimmed plexi that I've latched to the front. Doesnt need to be pricey to look good. Ikea, Target, Michaels... they are your friend!

    Just be creative and have fun with it :)

    Since I'm limited in space I rotate what I have displayed by themes or characters. I also like to pair my nicer collectables with my toys. I have my unleashed obi and anankin dueling with the .45 MR sabers infront of them. On the same shelf is the unleashe sidious vs yoda with their sabers too. Lots of Vader stuff together. Centered is a Koto vader with a hardware and resin parts saber. You'll see an action fleet vader's tie hanging along with VOTC vader, Vaderon operating table with medical droids and the unleashed vader in the back. Can't wait for the SS 12inch figs to start shipping so I can display my saber with them. Hope this helps.

    I made them small so I could get a bunch.

    For those who've seen this rom before, there have been some changes.

    More old pics here, I used slatwall to give some placement and mounting freedom. Plus you can just put a lot up there... :D

    Not sure if I'll be using it the new house though.

    You guys have too much room... :angry

    I would take a picture of all my stuff boxed up back in my old bedroom in my parent's house, but that just isn't very pretty.

    Unfortunately, my condo isn't big enough to display much sans a few MR lightsabers. :cry

    The blue screen effect of the paint was unintentional, but it is cool and very fitting for the room.

    Those recessed shelf displays in your basement are very nice BoBoDohn.

    Living in Florida we have no basements and I'm always envious when I see what everyone does with theirs.

    My whole room isn't set up yet, but I do have my saber rack up...
    It's a wine rack I got at Cost Plus a couple years ago...

    I also have a 4 shelved cherry wood cabinet that I keep the Star Trek props in..but it's pretty unorganized.

    I will have an area for helmets, blasters, sabers,Trek and misc...I have a lot of misc ;)

    BTW. The Ridic armor you have.. This is a question..
    The material that is made of it a flexible (rubber) material right?
    How do you like that armor?

    If the saying, "He who dies with the most toys wins" is true,, well, kids, we have the winner. Always amazing every time I see Toms collection. I dont think theres a more stocked collection here is there?
    Tom, if that were mine,, Id clear away one wall, get one of those dvd projectors and have a theatre in there. Just too much cool stuff there.

    Cool. Great collections and pictures. I'd love to see some more pics of Lawgiver's prop guns. :)

    My collection is focused on prop guns as well, and as I am currently packing up for a move to Atlanta, I am hoping to have a basement to convert into a decent prop room.

    Tampa doesn't have basements. :confused

    No basements in CA either, and sadly none in the new house, well at least no damage due to water or moisture...

    Going to be a few months before I get any new pics, the new house is being built now.

    If you like guns rudolpht is the guy to watch, I just hope his wife gets really fed up with his collecting and forces him to sell them (to me) :p

    Lets see some more gun displays I know there are some really nice ones in addition to those already posted.

    Hello, These are great ideas. WOW.
    I don't have to much space, a room 11 x 11. I recently aquirered a Freud router bit cabnit. It's a tall one 7' 4"H x 38"W x 16"D. It has two panels 3' x 4' to work with. The top panel is a slat board, still in good shape needs some color. I will be great for the sabers. The bottom one was busted up. I need to come up with a idea for mounting the blasters and a M41-A in the bottom one. There is also room for a light kit on the top to shine thru. Picks to come, once I figure how to post them for free.
    Thanks, For your ideas. Obi wan Coyote

    I guess I'll show what I've been able to put on display. I'm really limited on space and can't put out much stuff (I've got quite a bit still packed away :( ). And these pics were taken just after a move, so please ignore the mess and clutter. :$

    [attachmentid=6595]

    I came up with an idea for putting the sabers with their plaques. The Vader and Dooku are MR, the Maul I believe is a Romans (I bought it before MR existed).

    [attachmentid=6596]

    [attachmentid=6597]

    And of course what collection isn't complete without a "chilled Gungan". :lol

    [attachmentid=6598]

    Unfortunately he got a bit damaged while a friend was storing him for me. But once the weather warms up a bit I'll be able to take him outside and repair the damage.

    If you read statue forum or SSF you've seen my pics.

    Hell yeah. Now that's how you display a collection. Personally I'm not into figures but thats one stellar display area you got there. Got to be one of the cleanest and best display solutions I've ever seen around here, awesome and VERY classy. IMO, there's been a lot of do's and dont's in this thread (not talking about the collections themself, just how people display them) this got to be one of the best examples of "do's" I've seen.

    If I had to choose I'd rather just have two props displayed well then a hundred cramed into a dusty corner in a shelf.

    Once again, very impressive.

    Having the square footage available to make use of that clean negative space makes a huge difference. My new house will allow me to display in that manner.

    I love the lighting- where did you get the track lighting spots?

    Gruson, that is one classy display and truly an inspiration :thumbsup .

    It's nice to see a collection where you can actually appreciate the collection for each individual piece and not just it's sheer size and vastness.

    I hope to have a few pics up of mine in a few weeks. I'm moving in to a new apartment, but because I'll have a roommate, my collection will be relegated solely to my one room.

    P.S. where did you get those wall shelves? How deep are they and how much? I'm looking into a similar type shelf, but would like other options.

    Thanks guys. Luckily my wife also has a huge passion for movies. :)

    My museum room is right behind my 20x18 theater room:

    [IMG]

    You can see the same track lights installed in it.

    The museum is a dedicated 12x14 room (or around that) and will fill up more once more of the "large" pieces arrive. :) I will still keep a "clean" look to it though.

    LIGHTS:
    Lighting makes a HUGE difference when displaying your prized pieces. ;)

    I bought the track lighting at Home Depot. It's a kit that includes 5 lights and the track. Make sure you get the 150watt version (there is a 100watt version now). I then buy two extra lights/fixtures and add them to the track, bringing a total of 7 lights (140watts...which is why you need the 150watt track).

    I have three tracks installed, giving me 21 lights total.

    You will need to replace the bulbs that come with the track lighting (the ones included are very cheap and even have a pink tint). Go to the lights section and buy some 20 watt replacement bulbs at 15 degree angle.

    That's it.

    You can position the lights anywhere on the track and turn them at almost any angle.

    Very easy and I recommend them to really show off your collections.

    SHELVES:
    I made the shelves myself. Home Depot carries a crown molding shelf but they are not very deep. You need to buy an extra piece of wood and attach it to the shelf, giving you more depth, allowing you to display a bigger piece. It's pretty easy to do, just hammer 4 nails through it. The shelf includes everything you need to mount it on the wall. It's kind of hard to find the "white" versions of the shelf but you can paint the wooden ones whatever color you choose.

    You should do a search and look for CKING's collection. He also has a very nice and clean way of displaying a lot of pieces.

    Hope this gives you some ideas.
