Howdy,

I'm getting ready to start a AVP predator costume for my 10 year old daughter.
Something completely custome made and nothing from off-the-shelve children's Holloween costume.

Just wanted to see any pics of custom-made kiddie costumes for inspiration so post away if you have any.

Thanks... Nick

I hate to break it to you... but you are probably going to have as much luck with asking this as I had with my LOTR Mouth of Sauron costume tread. I have seen predator costumes for girls though and I'll try to find them for you if you'd like.

Well, If you mean any costume, I did a Mandalorian for my 10yo daughter. It's not all custom made only the jet pack, harness, suit, vest, blaster, skirt and there are custom touches to the gauntlets and armour.

Here's a thread I started a while ago.....

Good luck on the costume and prepare to become known as the coolest dad amongst your daughters friends and their mothers, but most hated by the fathers........Wife- "Why can't you do that for our kids?" child- "Dad, I want one of those too" :lol

Cheers,

Kraig

Edit: Added a pic of Jorina

Heh...that's probably because that's when they are old enough to really appreciate things like that...otherwise it's just playtime for them...

Wow that's one serious Biker scout...she's got the "I'm going to kick rebel butt" look in her eye :lol

Here's one for you

Hopefully Mara Jade's Mother will see this and post pics of her daughter, Mara Jade... :D She's had a number of cool SW costumes.

Im having an ANH Leia costume made for my 6 year old daughter for halloween. When it is done I will post some pics.

Not as cool as some I have seen on here but this is made by my Mom along time ago and I have also posted this on Finhead Central...

I was going through some old photo albums and found these...

Here are some pics of my brothers Rocketeer costume for Halloween in 1991. He was six or so and really wanted a costume. My Mother is a great woman so she made him one.

The helmet is a plastic childs motorcycle toy helmet. Sprayed and fitted with the fin and a plastic piece that filled in the big hole. It was even cut for the mouth holes. The eye holes were filled with old sunglasses lenses.

The pack is a shoe box (i think) and some cardboard tubes covered with silver plastic and some ductape. It also had leather straps made out of old belts.

The jacket, boots, and pants were very cool. The jacket was custom made with brown vinyl. The pants were just custom made. The boots were brown vinyl made to slip over his shoes.

All and all I think it is pretty cool.

Awesome stuff. I'm thinking about making a Rocketeer costume for my little boy (he's 2 1/2 yrs old) for this Halloween.

Wow. Very cool stuff.

The things we do for our kids to show them we love them and how special they are.

I sort of feel guilty sometimes because I know my daughter will always be the best dressed costumer at Holloween..... It makes all the other parents look bad seeing the time and expense I go through for my kid :D

I'm getting ready to take a lifecast of her and sculpt the armor using wed clay, and then casting the armor out of cold flexible foam, and painting it to look like metal. The under suit will just be a one-piece body stocking airbrushed to look like flesh with some netting in some areas.

Does something I made for myself in 1978 count? If so, here ya' go (and yes, that IS a calculator tied around my belly):

Did they even HAVE Vader helmets for the fans back then? And IMO yours looks REALLY good for that time period.

Thanks, Seth.

Actually, that's a Don Post mask (which I still have, by the way); the rest is a pretty good mish-mash:

Chest armour and belt were pieces of cardboard spray painted.
"Lights" on the belt boxes were just pieces of thick paper glued on top.
Undersuit was a pair of longjohns dyed black.
Robe was a bathrobe dyed black with the sleeves cut off.
Cape was a sheet.
Codpiece was a soccer shinguard slipped underneath the belt.
Gloves are welder's painted black.
I didn't bother with boots so I think I just wore black sneakers back then.

If the Rubie's full outfit were available back at that time I definitely would've bought one. The high-end costumes that a lot of people here put together are incredibly impressive, but as a stout fellow who never grew past 5'10" I'll leave it to the tall folk. Good thing ANH Kenobi is my favorite character; I can dress like that until I die.

I've done a Gonk droid but lost the pics for that. A few years after the Gonk, I made this for my younger son.

That Jawa is really cool DeanO - everything is perfectly proportioned and the lights are well done. We did Jawas one year for my nephews. This year my daughter adamantly wants to be Zam. Never having studied the suit closely - I'm cringing about the amount of detail... anyway, here are our jawas. These were made for 8 year olds.

Here is my daughter. She is only 9 but have more costumes than I do.

2 years ago as a Jawa - working on my R2.
