Ya, I'm considering making one too, but I'm not sure how to go about it. Possibly 3D printing.

I made a spyglass out of some toilet paper rolls, crayon, metallic marker, a Lego eyepiece and some Erector set tires.

Thanks OP for all the high quality screenshots! Might try making one of these out of copper fittings and wood laminate.
