LeMat in 12 Monkeys

Just rented 12 Monkeys, as my wife had never seen it, and it had been years since I had, too. Well, as usually happens in this hobby, I found something in the film that I could instantly ID and in this case, is something I'm currently monkeying around with (har). The gun Bruce Willis uses at the end of the film is none other than a Calvary LeMat - the base gun that Jayne used in Firefly.

Rent? Wal-Mart has those in the bargain bin for $5.00.

These are the kind of movies I now refuse to buy, assuming there's going to be a double dip 2-disc super-monkey edition... so I'm happily waiting on this one

This is the 12th anniversary of the film, after all. Wouldn't surprise me to see a 12th anniversary edition, with sericel, collector's lunchbox, etc etc etc.

(I just want a new transfer - the "making of" on this edition was surprisingly robust - was this a direct port from LD? It has a laserdisc feel to it.)

Le Mats are cool. I got to hold a firing replica a few years ago and I'm still in love, just could never justify the price.
