Legolas and Arwen - Fellowship of the Ring

I plan on giving that same dress a go here soon. I am still working on my Hobbits, then its onto Arwen and Aragorn. I only hope I can do half as good as you did. Fantastic work.

Amazing job on all aspects, costumes, photos and especially embodying the characters :thumbsup I really like the shots with the cut on your cheek, great attention to detail :cool For your next shoot you need a white horse ;) :D

Funny enough, my boyfriend's sister has a horse that looks exactly like Asfaloth, but he's elderly, and not in the best shape for riding :(! Very angry at myself for not making this costume years ago, when he was in shape and ride-able/healthy enough for activity!

Crappy cellphone pics of us riding him a few years ago.

Outstanding, just outstanding! You've done one helluva job, simply magnificent!!

A few years back, we had a local event- "Middle Earth Festival", til a C&D was issued by "the powers that be". Until then, it was sooo much fun! You both would have been a incredible hit!!!

Again, magnificent!

Funny someone else mentioned you should have a white horse. The first time I saw this thread I was going to say that too. lol. In fact, I think I registered just to say these are such good costumes. You and your bf look badass! :D

Quick question about the Quiver. How was it constructed? leather? what reference images did you use?

The quiver is made from leather and sintra-type plastic for the gold parts on the top and bottom . It was constructed by a friend of ours that specializes in leather crafting. It was wet molded, hand sewn and hand painted.

Reference images were taken from images online and the FotR EE DVD.

Was this quiver shown in the costuming track at Dragon*con last year? I did get to see one in person that did look very much like this with great quality.

Thanks Kiwi!

John: The Legolas ears are Aradani Studios , mine are ears I purchased a LONG time ago from a costume shop in Texas. I believe they are woochie ears. They used to go over the whole ear, but I cut and shaped them to fit my ears.

The Aradani ears are excellent though! And only $12. They do have an unbelievably realistic pair that are silicone and $40 and look closer to the movie: Small Silicone Elf Ear Tips
