Lego ninjango Lloyd

Hi I am new here I am making a costume for my grandson , it is Lego Ninjango Lloyd. I got an old Taekwondo suit and dyed it green and added black stripes etc. Has anyone any ideas on how to add the shoulder " ornaments" ? Plus he not wants a face mask ? Not the full head gear. Thanks in advance for some ideas. I will post pics when finished

I would definitely go foam for any ornamentation. I searched Google for some images and it looks like they're sort of spiky shoulder pads...? See here for some good inspiration on foam work:
