Ha ha, thank you. They told me they're going to have a silent auction after the play is done to raise more money for the charity. Everything is going to be sold off because they don't have any room to store anything.
I actually made three swords: two Master Swords, and one Dark Link sword. The second Master Sword will be used as a lobby display.
Here's a close up of the guard and hilt. I tried to get it as close to the original N64 version of Ocarina of Time as I could; what do you think?
I really wished I used a piece of hardwood (or even aluminum or plastic) for the blade. I used plywood because that's what I had and the budget was extremely low. I couldn't get as clean a shape as I wanted with the plywood. Ah well, it's a lesson for next time.
Since it's a stage piece, I wonder if a chrome paintjob for the blade would make the sword pop a little more under both the dim and heavy lighting when Link is swinging it around.
Perhaps. I only really had time to get one coat of paint on all the props before I had to fly off to Santa Fe for another job. They may add some more paint, and I know they will at least put a clear coat of gloss or semi-gloss on everything.
