Legacy Lightsaber Accuracy? (Galaxy's Edge)

I have the ROTJ Luke and both Mauls. I sold the FX Mauls back in the MR days and wanted them back. Glad I held off from Hasbro Mauls recent release as these are removable and have the nice blade with yellow flashing lights. And display case helps too. I can take pics of them if it helps. Price is super good for hilt. Sucks you have to to pay extra for blades. Saber stand is extra too. I also have Disney parks Rey and Kylo hilts. I won’t be buying the legacy versions since it’s pretty much the same.

FYI: Actually when Hasbro had first started making the FX lightsabers, they made them with removable blades. The maul half came with the hilt, blade, stand, A blade plug that fits in under the emitter so it looks like a flat emitter plate as on the real prop, covertec style belt clip, cut off damage pommel, and extender to join the other. These retailed for about $129, $119 if you knew where to shop, or if you waited like I did... $75 during a really good Entertainment Earth sale.

Also, no matter what brand of FX lightsaber you get... you always pay extra for the blade. No one is giving you a free blade. It is built into the price you pay. In the case of these legacy hilt, blades are simply, "sold separately". I think that is a good thing. Why pay for a blade for ever lightsaber you buy? If you buy 5 hilts, you don't have to buy 5 blades.

The latest Hasbro Black series FX lightsabers have a MSRP of $170 such as Eps1 Obi. The legacy is $109 and if you want a blade, add $45 so $154. And you sort of do get a display stand as it come with a nice looking display box. I've never used the weird stands that came with any brand FX lightsaber. But if you do, they are $25... so now you are at $179. So for $9 more, you got a neat case and a much batter stand.

I hear the Rey is different from the previous parks offering. They fixed the band placement.

The Hasbro removable blades Maul was very cheap looking. It looked like plastic at first glance. The Legacy version is identical to the fixed bladed ones in terms of quality.

The Legacy Rey changed a smidge. They fixed the clamp orientation and have a new sound font(I hate how my phone tries to correct font to don't! Font is a word!!!) for blue sabers with a yellow flash on clash. The parks version flickered on and off for the clash.

Again I am very intetested in the Vader. I would be posting a want to but soon. I'm going to ask if anyone will pick up one.

It looks like a lot of the "bare metal" is clear anodized, giving it a more grey, matte appearance, which can look a little like plastic.

I'm just talking in general, I've seen it on past Mauls, and virtually every part in the Savi shop.

I saw plenty reviews of the old Hasbro Maul. It came off very cheap to me. I never said it was plastic but I'm came off looking like it.


In the thumb nail picture it's in the center and looks less impressive then the original MR on the bottom.
 
Sorry, haven’t seen any videos. I just actually owned, looked at, and handled one for years. But if you’ve see a review, who am I to argue? :rolleyes:

I wonder if there are any more Legacy hilts coming anytime soon? When the first reports about Savi’s hit the press, they also mentioned that there would be character lightsabers ready to buy like Ahsoka and Shak’ti. So I wonder if more are on the way. After all, D23 is right around the corner. So even though most the GE stuff is new, I’d have to believe some newer items will be hitting soon.
 
I'd say that Darth Maul's saber should be grey, like grey-anodised aluminium, not shiny metal. AFAIK, all original props were made of painted resin, except for the emitter discs which were stacked steel washers, which were also greyish to begin with. Shiny aluminium is right out.

The side details ruin it for me though. They remind me too much like windows. Now I can't shake the image that the boxes are actually model train cars. :-þ

You're absolutely right about the painted resin, I was simply relaying what I've seen.
 
Ya know I think it's BS that these lightsabers are in park only. And I also think it's BS that people take advantage of that and rip people off on eBay.

I had no bites yet on my WTB listing yet and Darth Alias hasn't got back to me. I really don't want my request to be left ignored. I just want this saber. Is that too much to ask for :/.

I'm just getting frustrated over this ordeal!
