Hello people! I've been unsuccessful in my search for finding good and easy to understand tutorials on how to plait whips. I might tackle a project soon involving this skill so any form of help will be much appreciated.
This is the prop I'll be making:

Some questions though:
1. How many plaits for that particular look?
2. Any type of leather / alternative material I should use?
3. How do I fasten the ends?
I guess I'm just hoping to get a general grasp on the technique since I know squat about it.
Even the tutorials I've seen on Youtube don't seem to tackle the basics.
