Have a leather vest that I want to build armor upon with Eva or craft foam, but I'm not sure how it will hold up. Has anyone done anything like this and could give me any tips? Best glue? Anything will help!

Leather is naturally porous and holds glue very well, I've always used contact cement with no issues. Just make sure the surface isn't overly oiled or sealed, just rough it up a bit with some sandpaper on the gluing surface and it'll hold beautifully.

There's quite a few Youtube vids about this, because I also was curious about it. Most of the videos say contact cement, some of them use Barge for the job.

Contact cements like Barge are used in leather working all the time. I have a friend who is a cobbler (3rd generation) who uses barge almost exclusively in his shop. So you shouldn't have an issue using it for foam to leather bonding.
