lawgiver holster

I just ordered some kydex to try my hand at a holster build for my lawgiver.
I'm gonna try to make a pattern with cardboard first, does anyone have any good screen shots of the holster?

I'm looking over the movie too, to see what I can find. I seem to recall a good scene where you can see the button strap on the top of the gun is open and the holster doesn't look like those promo pictures.

I'm a novice at this kind of stuff, so I would settle for not burning down the house when it comes to mixing plastic & heat.

The screen used holster looks like it's made in 2 pieces. The base, and the shroud that holds the gun.

Sounds right, that's how I did the reimagined BSG holsters years back. Pull the "shroud" and the attach to the base that has the strapping, etc. Should work pretty well that way.

I don't have the funds (nor the expertise) to buy (make) one of the 3D version Lawgivers, so I'm gonna try to do my best with a Predator 3 light gun. That said, would it stand up to a sheet of Kydex which was to be formed around it? Would the Kydex cool quicker than the plastic of the gun would melt?

Failing that, what would be an alternative plastic to use as holster material?

Well my first attempt went pretty good. just used a heat gun and the lawgiver itself
on a one piece build.
I don't have any build pix but when my wife gets home with the camera I'll post a
few pix of what I have so far ,
I'm going to attempt a second one with a wooden template for the two piece version next .
Also learned that the .093 Kydex is too thick for what I'm trying to do and I'll use .06 next time..
