Latex for Zuckuss's Hoses/Tubes?

Skaught

I recently bought a Zuckuss mask and I'd like to do the full costume. The one part I'm not sure about is how to make the "organic" looking hoses. I read somewhere that you can brush on latex to acheive rough, flexible hoses. My idea was to use clear water supply tubing. If I put female 1/4" earphone jacks in the mask and male 1/4" earphone leads in the tubes, I could easily plug them in and out when I need to.

My question is, is latex the way to go and if so, where do I get some? Finally, do I require any special paint? Can the latex be colored?

Thanks!

Scott

Hi Scott,

My method was to use those cheap plastic tubing you use for compiling your pc wiring and wrap that with masking tape, in a messy way. That will create the untidy organic look. Brush on with latex, dry, rebrush and viola, 'organic' tubing!

Hope that helps!

Stay safe,

Tim.

P.S. LMK if you need pics.

Pics would be great, thanks! I've ordered the latex, so now I'm just waiting.

Hi Scott,

No problem. Okay, the latex was painted with standard acrylic paints and the hoses run around to the back and under the rear flap/skirt and slips into a slightly wider diameter tubing that was glued on to the flap/skirt.

Like so...

Cool, thanks! How did you color the latext? And where do they go in the back?
