Last Starfighter video game project - COMPLETED

You're welcome. I hope to have the Tunnel Chase game scanned by next week, assuming that all goes according to plan.

My wife's puppy tend to change one's plans every 20 minutes. :)

Also, has anyone been in contact with Trixter? He hasn't posted since March 4th. I'm just wondering if everything is all right.

Thanks for the concern rook, Im still here, just busy with some changes going on around here.
They are remodeling my house so im going to bo off and on periodically and dont know what time ill have for props, just keeping things going as long as I can

Just a heads up- Fotoheap (my archiving service) is closing Monday and all images will be removed- the Starfighter thread images among them- I have spent an hour and a half backing up everything but wanted to make sure you got everything you might want. The images are scattered a bit but mainly in Starfighter/Cabinets/Bishop. I have absolutely everything backed up but while it's there and easy to browse-

Also, there should be an updated STARFIGHTER up soon with a number of corrections/improvements (joystick support, turret speed and acceleration control, Death Blossom failure toggle/rate, variable display resolution, Spanish language pack, a few improved models, and other little glitch fixes)-

P.S. Maria (Metropolis) is private because there are pics of her backside. The only prop I have my wife requested I display in a particular way (back to the wall).

:lol And I thought 'Maria' was your wife for a minute there. :D

Thanks for the heads up Doc, I leeched all the ones I'm missing. Which was more than I thought. :rolleyes

7-6 2-1 DOWNLOAD VERSION 5-1-6

There is limited joystick support but there are several freeware keymappers listed in the readme that should allow mapping to any peripheral. Also look for a fixed "Bishop of Battle" teaser and a teaser for "The War of the Worlds" arcade redeux (should be up in the next few days).

As always, www.roguesynapse.com for the downloads.

Bump.

Doc, were you ever able to print off my marquee and compare it with the one from your cabinet?

Also, I still need clear square side shots of the cab so I can do the side art vectoring.

It will take longer now though, as my laptop bit the dust so no doing art at work any more. :(

Just a followup- Last finishing touches on the machine- Now fully working- I wanted to add the instructions sheet. Thanks to Dave Fein for sending some resource pics- Here is the version as best as I could do it-

Sometimes a prop is cool, but sometimes you see a prop that makes you smile a smile that reminds you what it felt like to be a kid! This is one of them! Great job man, simply amazing!
(y)thumbsup

I just started looking at it and I have a few questions on the controls. Do you have any info or anything I can bring up to see instructions?

There is a ReadMe in the game folder under programs.

DEFAULT CONTROLS
Turret movement and right fire ASWD LAlt, Arrows
Reticle and left fire JKLI Space
Mouse and mouse fire if active
Mouse 1 fire, Mouse2 Weapon toggle, 3 DeathBlossom
Laser m
Particle Beam ,
Photon bolt (Missiles) .
MAME Weapon Toggle 1
COIN 5
Diagnostic Mode 0

Hitting 0 (zero) in attract should bring up the diagnostic menu. Navigate using arrows to the keymapper. The game runs best in a MAME cab (ideally 2 joystick, >3 button). There are also some rudimentary mouse and joystick options-

EDIT: Also, forgot. There was an updated thread I couldn't find last PM with some hires caps/etc.
http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=25965&page=2&highlight=starfighter+arcade

Also, the marquee, artwork, fonts, sound packs, are on the "Resources" page at RogueSynapse.com, along with the credits for the people who did the work.

Also, this is freeware as always. If you have an HD player and don't already have it, support the studio and go buy the HD version of TLSF. Flipping awesome man!!
