Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's**New Maps at start of thread**

Yes that is Thompson Ong's Falcon...its a beautiful build & his more recent posts are incredible.
Note though that it is not accurate to the 5 footer in most areas. He has taken the blueprints from either the DK blueprints set, or the print that came with the deagostini part kit, you can see it on his wall.
So his model is of a 2 X 32" based model. He has used bis own kitbashing everywhere as well.
I love it though & his skills are admirable.
The member here that built the SS Executor also has a 5 footer build. Beautiful build there as well, but again, not an accurate shape or part for part replica.

He is actually also using Joshua's and Andre's blueprint also, on the photo with the blue (d'agostini) blueprint you can see in the right corner on the table printouts of the 2D Blueprint from Joshua's site... But I guess it is a mix of all the measurements on the final model because I spot some differences.

Apologies for digging up this but regards to post # 1241 I just realised I've had an image of this large radar dish for many years now without realising it.

Just looking at it, it appears to be "flopped" and lacks the weathering.

Interesting. There is one shot where I think that was used, during the dogfight after escaping the Death Star. There are two other very similar shots that could have used this but apparently did not, which strikes me as odd. It's possible the front side of the dish wasn't detailed.

That's the scene I thought it was used in and those images confirm it. Also the original image is flopped as the blast marks are on the left side of it and not the right.

Sorry if this isn't new. Has anyone found the McLaren upper body in the lower Port-side Maintenance Bay? Here it is uncut in the New Hope embodiment:

And heavily cut down for ESB:

Also, on the upper jaw, the plate on top of the 1/35 Nichimo Elefant Fender is a cut down fender from the 1/35 Tamiya M577 (or M106A1 - same sprue). I'm sure it's from the same M577 kit that decorates much of the upper jaw. Again, sorry if this is already known, but I haven't seen it on here.

Hi, yes, found that McLaren body plate in my quest for donors. Its a bigggg part & gives an indication of just how big this ANH pit actually is. Not much good ref for this pit, but I managed to ID around 15 parts.

Hi, can you or anyone ID the small circular greeble on the turret disk seen at the top of the last image> It looks like a tire rim or something? I want to see if whatever it is, is available in a smaller 32" in falcon scale as I want to detail my turret on the Deagostini falcon much like the 5 footer.

I'm currently researching that part. On the 5 footer, I think it might be the cupola from the 1/48 Bandai M4A3 Sherman. Let me know what you think.

OMG! Good call, I think your right, def the Sherman, but not sure about it being the Bandai though as the hinges on the sides don't look the right size. The 1/35 part in the Kit Scans thread for the Nichimo 1/35 M4A1 "Sherman" looks more the part. Whatya think??

Are you sure you're looking at pictures of the actual 5 footer? Unless I'm linking to the wrong picture, that second picture you reference is not the original model and definitely has a different cupola on it.
