Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's**New Maps at start of thread**

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

I'll check tonight but I think they may be "cut" parts. Also we need a harrier anyway , just not for there. He he.... Damn drugs.

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

Has it been pointed out that the exhaust cover sitting on top of the KT turret roof has another part stuffed inside it? A glacis plate MG mantlet, by the look of it? (Ta Guy C for the pic.)

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

Has this windscreen been ID'd yet? It looks early to mid 30s. Just thinking the kit might also provide the straight-six engine block...

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

Won't be the T-bucket (rod <> straight six, and stock T= straight 4), and the 34, wouldn't that be a flattie V-8?

Edit: I am thinking something more like a '32 Ford Victoria:

Not sure any of the engine options are a flattie six, though...and the screen doesn't have the right rounded lower corners.

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

Gonna be casting up some inside mandible sets this weekend if any body is interested.

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

Not sure if this was yet posted. In case not, yet more Sealab:

These are two of the main frames of Sealab, back to back. The arms that go around the habitat are trimmed off (those are used as the angle braces on the corners of the docking rings, but that part is well known).

This is starboard side only - the upper piece has a flange on the right for equipment to attach to. The port side uses two of the lower type. (Edit: no, there is one of each type on both sides of the ship. No idea why I thought that.)

Edit, here's the piece itself:

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

Thanks Martyn. Yes, I think those are noted on the part map but thanks for clarifying which part is used where. I'm trying to note all the Sealab parts for Jason/Mike S's little project :). I recall you also spotted another Sealab part on the underside of the mandible next to the cockpit.

Also, regarding the parts you've noted here, check out the forward central landing gear housing. Looks like another use of one of these right in front of the tank deck.

Also, one of the SL pair of parts used on the sides of the docking ring housings ( the outer most part with no hole) is also used twice ( slightly chopped) to form the outside edge of the landing ramp. ie the part which sits on the ground when its dropped open. Check'em out and see if I'm right? Not at my home pc so can't post pics at the mo'

Cheers
Nick

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

Cheers Nick. Yeah, the parts are coloured on the map - in the same shade as the Hanomag and Sherman bits - but lack annotations. (Unless I've missed the right update.) I figured you'd know what they were, though. IIRC I came across a couple more the other night, but can't recall where offhand - will do some more reviewing.

My Sealab is a bit of a disaster zone as you see. If Jason and Mike don't want to cut original parts, I'm happy to sacrifice mine - can mould Falcon-specific pre-trimmed bits.

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

Martyn the other day you mentioned another location for the pontoon. Was that on top of the wankel engine? There is also a few kettengrad parts down the starboard mandible that I should get cast up this weekend.

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

Nick, yeah, it's the same part at the landing gear housing. It's been cut in half in this case and the two halves are separated by another part.

PS yes - talk about a good eye - you're correct, the lower end of the ramp has two parts 24 side by side, both trimmed. The aft one is trimmed of about a third of an inch, the forward one just has a small tab taken off. Great scaling detail.

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

Simon, no not the thing sitting on top of the Wankel engine by the cockpit - that looks like a cockpit floor to me - Lancaster?

The bits I was thinking of were something else, didn't pan out.

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

Ahh yeah... Looking at it from a different angle it is a cockpit floor. 1/72 or 1/48. Definitely a bomber too. Maybe a lanc or b/17 , I'll check me planes tonight.

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

Doesn't seem to be Lanc. It probably pushes the kitlist to 92, whatever it is.

If you guys are talking about this piece, that's from the Hanomag.

Re: Large scale Millennium Falcon Kit ID's

DOH. Thanks! Well I'm an idiot then.
