Lady Arbitrator AVP style

The skin looks great! The main color is perfect.

I really like the subtle patterns and spots!!

Thanks, I was worried how it would come out... didn't want it to be too dark and compete with that black armor :0

Cotton/lycra lets the tones blend.... but beware of stretching it with the dress form and with the plastic.
If I had another dress form that I could take the bottom panels off, then I'd add plastic "pants" to it and set the dimensions to my measurements. Then no risk of stretching it too much.

The instructions on the paint say you can heat set the color with an iron.
So I will try that on the sample pieces I used, then see if the color comes out if its wet....

I just got done with gluing the velcros for the closure.

(Details:
Base color is Createx Airbrush Fabric paint Sand, middle color is Folk Art Fabric paint Fawn, and the center color and spots are a mix of Createx Dark Brown and Folk Art Fawn.

I did the patterns in diluted Fawn, then did the fill in color with the Sand, then went back and used less dilute Fawn on the patterns, then did the mix for down the arms, and down the side of the body and legs. Last but not least, the mix for the spots.)

Been a minute, sweet upgrades! Dig the skin!

THanks for popping in, thanks for the props

I have the closure done, next thing to do is heat set the color with an iron; its done on the back side and doing the legs and arms is going to be tricky.... I have a mitt thingy that is stuffed with some sort of heat resistant material and its used with an iron.... put it down a pant leg and it can be ironed without making a crease.

UPDATE:

I heat treated the suit and practice pieces and checked the practice pieces would withstand water, so its OK.

The in-progress shinguard knife and prop shuriken (lighter than the real one)
The blades are plastic car mudflaps covered with aluminum tape:

The skin looks awesome with the netting on it. Any close-up pics?
Accessories are the key to any costume. You've got it going on with your custom pieces!!

Thanks again for the props

The only closeup pix so far are in the Completed Suit thread; I hope to have more from Comic-Con (I leave tomorrow at (ergh!) 6am )

Yes, the accessories.... sometimes take up just as much time as the main costume, lots of little bits 'n bobs. ::0:
I did the shuriken because the other is a little heavy and I have all those pouches....
The shinguard knife I was using has a hilt that chafes on the shinguard; the new one doesn't have that so it should fit better.

I did give myself a manicure and a pedicure... hmmm, Predicure? (rim shot)

Ei'luj:
Looking good, nothing wrong with your shuriken, they are different but all Predators are different too.
From the start this has been an very original suit build.
You have used a lot of materials that do not get used much in pred suit building and you have acheived an amazing suit!

I salute you!

p.s don't forget pics from the con
