Really? How did you keep it from warping, I tried to make the chest a few times and I even made something to hang it from my roof so It wouldn't warp since it had no supports. But it still warped.:)

haven't had any problems with warping at all D: did you use hot glue to put it together? Also, robo3687 has released some lovely supports for download recently


also,also...I got a dremel today and instead of being the big help I was expecting it to be, it's done little more than make things harder. Had to do a lot of things over again...am I just missing something? tips anyone?

Glazing putty is fantastic if used properly. Most people don't use it properly. It hasn't been the standard in car finishing for 30 years because it's crap.

Great thread and I've been keeping up tos ee your progress, but you know after reading all the responses and seeing the thread hits....

I totally want to start a "Dudes can be Pepper Potts Rescue Suit" thread to see if like 4000 womens start stalking me. I'd absolutely be a househusband, learn to to Pepakura, and I already know how to do sheet-rock and roofing.

Thanks, one of my friends uses wood glue, yea, WOOD GLUE, but next time I'm at a store, I'll buy some of Aileen's tacky glue.

Actually the toes are very reminiscent of the feet to the original extremis armor. If you go back and look at Iron Man: Extremis #4 and Iron Man Vol. 4 #7 you can see them in Adi Granov's version. The actual comic version's feet havw gotten more and more grotesque over the comic lifespan of the extremis armor. It was pretty bad during the Civil War saga as well. :lol

I'm not a big fan of them either. Personally I really like Iron Patriot's design and have been seriously considering modding one of these IM helmet peps into a decent IP helmet and maybe one day make a full suit.

I was talking with a few friends and actually tossed around the idea of casting and modding this suit when it's done (as far away as that is, lol) into one. But if you do it, all the better!

I'm on a huge Captain America kick atm so anything plastered in stars and stripes had got me going :lol

HA! You remember "Muppet Cinderella!!!" I loved that character. Unfortunately I made the outfit out of molded foam and fabric covered foam rubber and it didn't breathe worth a damn. It also built up body heat amazingly fast. I will try to find an old pic and scan it in here. And sorry for the late reply; I've been offline due to some health complications.

And you're right, I often forget to keep things comfortable and functional.I'm the sort who is just stubborn and pushes through if the costume is uncomfortable but I don't think thats going to fly with armor..

Laamberry, sorry for chiming in late here; I've been away in hospital for a bit. Lovely work on the chestpiece pep. I wish I had half your talent! Thanks so much for keeping us all posted on your progress! (And I will try to find a pic of the old Sweetums costume I mentioned in an earlier post and see if I can get it scanned in; it's from my ancient pre-digital camera days.)
