Ladies can be Iron Man too (everything but the shoulders, pg 35)

Re: Ladies can be Iron Man too (kinda pic heavy)

If this was a Male pep builder, I bet it won't even fill 1 thread page. This is like getting out of hand. You guys never seen a female firefighter? It's the same thing. Kudos to women and womens rights, however this is a predominantly male board and it is just sad that talent has to be expressed in such a typical MTVish way. I have to express my disgust to the reaction this thread is getting. Gentlemen, all you have to do is open your front door, step outside the field and there you go! Meet women the natural way.

... and how many of those women "out there" wear signs "I play with power tools and I like Iron Man" ?

It's not often that you find a woman that has similar interests as the men here. That's why they get so much attention and that's why I married one as soon as she said "I like star trek"

Because of the rarity I believe that this is the RPF's way of encouraging women to share in such interests. It's the RPF's way of "whistling at the hot girls that pass by"

Of course, Laamberry, if you find others comments offensive just say so and i'm sure people will lay off a bit. I'm sure no one means to offend or scare you away

PS: You guys are slipping, thus far I have not seen a single comment regarding "helmets taking shape"

Re: Ladies can be Iron Man too (kinda pic heavy)

I also have to just add that anyone female RPF board member that posts pics of herself in a bikini, using bondo, is fair game for "interesting comments".

Re: Ladies can be Iron Man too (kinda pic heavy)

Yeah, sanding bondo can be really difficult to get smooth and pretty, if too much is applied, but you seem to be doing quite well. I'll agree with the advice to use and wear safety gear when working with these things.
Yea, that's the best idea, no one told me and I ended up 'sick' as all hell with bondo dust down my throat, and the wind picked up cause I was doing it out side, and I got all the dust in my eyes, it sucked.

testoterone overloading here. whew!
Agreed. And I'm a guy saying it.

Although I agree with your first sentence, and this thread has got irrelevant eye-candy, I don't think anyone's comments have come anywhere near to crossing the line.

I've been holding back, because I don't wanna be Buzz Killington, but I hope she wasn't sanding bondo in a bikini.

Re: Ladies can be Iron Man too (kinda pic heavy)

get some acetone and a chip brush, then when you are applying the bondo, load your brush with acetone and you can "paint" the bondo smooth which will drastically reduce the about of sanding you will have to do.

next homedepot trip im getting acetone and a bag of chip brushes just to try this out. if i could paint the bondo on, things would be alot easier on me. this is very helpful because im going to be doing alot more bondoing that i imagined i would be, i might even be able to stretch out my bondo by using thin coats.

Re: Ladies can be Iron Man too (kinda pic heavy)

Amazing work. Thanks for sharing, and keep up the good work.

Wait...aren't you the same guy that said this?...

I bondo in the nude. Who wants a picture? LOLOLOLOLOLOL

Seriously?...you're "disgusted"??

I don't mean to hijack this thread, especially since I'm new here, but do you honestly think the OP needs a white knight to defend her honor, or bat away the compliments some people here have given her? Do you not think attractive women get hit on and whistled at by men from the time they're in high school? And, do you not think some women are sometimes actually flattered by the attention they receive?

A woman who can fill out a bikini properly KNOWS she can. That's why she wears it. If she didn't like the attention it got her, then she would wear a burqa to the beach or to the pool instead. The biggest complaint women have when it comes to this, is that they would prefer the compliments to come only from the guys they think look hot; not from Barney the overweight garbage man, or from Jose, Luis and ***** sitting in the front cab of their gardening truck.

No one here said anything offensive or crude to the OP. They recognized her attractiveness and had the balls to actually express their admiration. If anything, I'd say THEY are the ones who most likely know how to interact with women in a public setting, while the white knights sit alone in the corner; paralyzed by their social ineptitude. The only time they feel courageous enough to say anything though, is when they think they can make another guy look bad by pointing a finger at him and chastising him for his "uncouth" behavior.

Give me a flippin' break.

I STILL have faith in you people that this thread will turn back into a discussion about the pep work that Laamberry does. In comparison it´s darn awesome what she did with that pep.

And of course a discussion on work safety is never wrong or off topic.

YES, CardboardKing, that is directed at YOU!!!
I REALLY hope you unplugged that mouse (not mouth!) sander before giving it the tongue! And took it to the movies and bought it dinner beforehand :lol:lol:lol You know that those images have already been downloaded 1879 times, right? And have been upped on several social sites already?

No, seriously people, keep it civil, complimenting on props is cool, complimenting, justified or not, on good looks or choice of work clothes actually is not what this place is about. You´ll probably meet at a prop party one day or at a con.

Thanks,
Michael

Ed209...your post was so riddled with irony juice, I do not even know where to begin to mop it up.
