    thats correct, i have it... in hand :) who wants to see?

    Peter Davis and Russell Mulcahy chatted to get the case replicated and fixed up.. so MR. Davis called me and then MR. Mulcahy sent me the original screen used sword box.. its so fracken heavy, 31 lbs total.. its huge.. the sword is by far heavier than anyother ive held. its aluminum and steel and the spikes are on a spring lock system... that is broken i might add... the blade was one solid part cut in half with a locking part welded to one side... the brief case insides are solid wood, not partical board... curshed velvet attached to the wood. anyway im working on measurments now...

    i will be replicating this which will be available to the public, im not putting the prices on this so i cant help anyone there lol like teh chakrams and kurgan helmets, i will offer these on my site also, and trust me when i say if you buy anything that i make from Davis Panzer, your gonna get it...

    I am incredibly envious, although from all the Highlander repros I've seen of yours on this site it makes sense you are the man for the job.
    Thanks for sharing the photo.

    @Irish

    In the first post, showing the original Kurgan sword, is the black snake skin the original wrapping on the grip?

    That's ironic. I just watched highlander with the commentary on last night, and heard Russel talking about how he still had the sword.

    Is the original sword longer than the Marto?

    It looks like it is, but just wondered, since it might just be the camera angle....:confused

    I see the blade is in two pieces, as it should be, how does the top portion of blade attach? Pics? Something that slides into lower half of blade?

    Re: Kurgan sword case, from the film..

    oh and let me be pretty specific here.. this blade is not... IS NOT safe to swing when you hook them together.. the scene in the film used 2 swords... one to put together and one to swing around...

    they suggested that when i produce them that i use 2 set screws that you have to tighten up when you attach the 2 halves together...

    so... ya lol

    I wouldn't add the set screws in the blade! Then it wouldn't be screen accurate!:lol
    Just send a warning statement letter along with the sword that it is NOT to be swung. There! You're no longer liable!:cool:thumbsup

    How about putting a different leather handle wrapping. Just black leather instead of the black snake skin!
    That should be sufficient in my book!;):thumbsup

    @irishamericanlad:
    Thank you very much for sharing this awesome pics.For me,this sword is the coolest next to the Conan-sword Atlantean,that Schwarzenegger uses in his 2 Conanmovies.I would be very happy,to own a good made replica of the kurganversion,that you can snap together.I never bought the Marto-version,because its only a solid sword.

    i dont understand your post.. are you saying this isnt the original screen used piece and im lying? cause this is the original one used by clancy brown in the film... theres nothing missing from it except the piece of cloth that covers it....

    Re: Kurgan sword case, from the film..

    Chris, You'd be surprised by how much just one 8-32 set screw using pressure will hold something metal together. I was skeptical as well until I did it myself and tried to seperate the pieces (no tools, just my bare hands). I was unsuccessful. Still, fast swinging of a sword with a two piece blade could be a bit scary and is not something I myself would do. I would only try slow swings with something like that.

    Irish, awesome pics. Thanks for sharing them. I can't wait to see your replicas of the sword and case.

    Re: Kurgan sword case, from the film..

    sorry if my post read rude it was not my intent. highlander is a top 10 film for me and im in a hospital room with my son dealing with his cancer. and yes i was referring to the cloth that clancy pulls down to reveal the sword. it seems to have artwork/writing or whatever. it would be nice to see it! that would make it the uber kurgen sword case replica! i believe you have the real deal screen used sword i was just hoping it was all there for this project!

    Re: Kurgan sword case, from the film..

    Oh I know, I am a mechanical engineer and have to design bolted jointed all the time... but small screws in a very thin piece of metal, that can have huge moments on it due to the length blade = i wouldn't trust it :)
