K'tinga

REL I am glad to hear that I was totally off on this one :D , please continue to work on your kits, take your time, it's worth the wait. I Hope to see some new progress shots soon. Keep working it. :thumbsup

Well, I´ve got my E from REL about two weeks ago and I have nothing but praise about it. Exceptional well done, and I also love the decals (all three complete sheets of them). Please, take your time with your next project, but don´t stop making kits. I´d love to purchase a decent D or K´tinga some time in the future.

Tobias

Thank you Tobias, that's great to hear.

The D will be in 650 scale, 39" x 29". And it will be the Generations version. Clear fiberglass as usual, I'm practicing my welding skills as this one will come with a metal armature. Oh and the Defiant will now be studio scale at 37".

Thanks.

I love the Defiant but at 37" I just don't have a place for a model that big. I was hoping for a model around 18.5" half studio scale. :cry

D?. Did you say D?. Put me down for one of those. :) Very excited to hear you'll be tackling that project, Richard. Will we be seeing another construction thread?

REL

Please don't let a couple of mal-contents that are used to buying their stuff at walmart put you off from making your fabulous kits. I have not ordered anything from you in the past but I Do recognize quality work when I see it and you've been putting out some really high quality stuff... and I do intend on getting a couple of K'Tingas from you when they become available... without having even seen it I know it will be good enough for me to buy based on past performance...

On the flip side of having waited for orders (not from you) from people in the past progress emails go a long way toward asuaging those "where's my order" stuff. Even if its a note to say that you're filling order number 5 out of X, followed by filling order number 6 in a week and a half later - the customer sees progress toward the orders being dealt with...

On the other side of that - if the Nimrods keep harassing you offer their money back and fill their slot with the unlucky guy who missed it the first time that has since contacted you... waiting lists are not a bad thing ;)

Thanks Jedi Dade, that's a good idea as a matter of fact, I'll offer him a refund and see what he says. So far everyone that's ordered from me has been great, very understanding of what's going on. After all this is my first kit ever so when I quoted a timeline I didn't realize how long it would take.

I think my biggest mistake was taking preorders, which I won't do on the next kit, I'll make sure it's in boxes ready to go before I take an order for it.

About the Defiant being 37", I originally planned to make it 33" at 1/144 scale because I didn't know how large the studio model was. Well I find out now the studio model is only 4" longer than what I planned on making it so it wouldn't be that much of a difference to make it actual studio scale. (then I can put it in the SS section with no controversey ;) ) Plus I got all the kit bash pieces for it in studio scale and I can just use those instead of scratchbuilding smaller pieces, so it'll be easier for me to make it studio scale in that regard.

A "D"?

Ohhhh....

....you're evil.

:D

I'm going to have to conjure an event horizon for my prop room to fit all of this stuff inside.

Since I'm going to start over on a new master. I decided to sell what I already made, if anyone is interested and wants to make something of it let me know. I'll sell it for $75 plus $10 shipping in the US. Oversea's I'll send you a quote.
